Why is there a lack of world class left footed strikers?

In the current game there isn't a true world class left footed striker. The best I can think of are Olic and Eduardo.. Does anyone have any feasible ideas that explains this?

Personally I think it is from back at school, the left footed kid always gets put at left back or left midfield because of the lack of left footers in general, it doesn't matter if he is better in another position because he'll always be made to play there. This probably explains the lack of quality left backs as well. All of these left footers made to play that position where pretty shit and have never been tried up front so have ended up dropping out of football.

It's sad that we have lost many gifted left footed strikers due to grassroots football being crap.

Don't troll, insult or post off topic please. Messi isn't really a striker, he's a forward. And no poll is needed, just discuss.

Messi can play as a striker better than all those players listed in the poll..

Well, not exactly sure, but I'd guess there are more right footed people in the world then there are left footed, so I guess that's the root of the problem.

I'll have to start reporting soon. This is a post about world class left footed strikers. The only reason I listed the ones I did is because they are currently the top left footed strikers and it proves my point.

Can we stop posting troll suggestions and actually debate the question?

Carroll maybe not be world class but he should be on the list, he's England's most valued player and a England international he has also proved that he can play in the premiership from just being loaned to Preston.
