Re: The Champions League This Season
It'll be like every other year in the sense that there will be no surprise winner and 2/3rds of the competition will be dull.

Re: The Champions League This Season
its sad to see that Lille and Borussia Dortmund sold sold some of their players I was looking forward to seeing how good they would've done. If Porto keeps Hulk/Falcao they will do well imo.

In the modern format only Porto (maybe Liverpool too) has been a surprise.

Every year people talk shit about us and every year we perform until they ultimately pair us with Barcelona. Seems like since 2006, UEFA can't resist pairing us with Barcelona eventually.

The Barca/Arsenal matches are always so entertaining though its almost become a rivalry in a way you just expect those to be great matches. I hope you guys play them again.

The same applies to your domestic competitions. People say Arsenal will do shit before the season. For the majority of the season, they do great. Near the end, they fuck up and end up doing shit. So, it's not Barcelona.

Last season, Arsenal eeked out second place in a group in which they were heavily favored. I hardly consider that "performing."
Oh btw, in 2006, Arsenal were "paired" with Barca in the final. The two teams were kept apart as long as humanly possible.

2006 - Kept apart from Barcelona until the Final
2007 - Lost to PSV Eindhoven in Last 16
2008 - Lost to Liverpool in Quarters (draw saw you on the opposite side to Barcelona)
2009 - Had the piss beaten out of you by Manchester United (draw saw you on the opposite side to Barcelona)
2010 - Lost to Barcelona in QF
2011 - Lost to Barcelona in Last 16
Hmmm....yeah, every year UEFA are trying to put you with Barcelona. We've had the same problem in recent years, what a weird coincidence. You'd almost think being the best team means you play more teams in the competition or something.

Is there somewhere where one can look to see who's been banned? Like a Playmaker obituary, if you will.
