If Maradona was 25 right now and was playing he'd rip players apart easily.

no he wouldnt cause messi is better then maradona but he cant rip players apart at will cause nowadays you dont get much space. maradona would not have scored that goal in the video nowadays.

    this is all facts

    I believe you are trolling.

You don't get much space but Messi still scored similar goal against Getafe?

Maradona would crumble on a wintry night at the Britannia stadium

and he did score a similar goal to maradona (a better one) against getafe which only makes messi even better then he already was compared to maradona. just cause one is international and the other a club doesnt make a jot of difference

all you guys see is maradona youtube videos... which only shows the best of maradona, go watch messi youtube videos and he will look like god of football
    Obvious troll is obvious. Laughing

That much could be debated as being valid since those two are part of the renaissance Barcelona are enjoying.

Being excellent is fine Menal, butbif you don't win being excellent doesn't mean shit.

He does need international success in order for his career to be as complete as Maradona's or Pele's but when people say he was "disappointing," "shit" and "cannot perform without Xavi and Iniesta," it's just plain wrong. He was Argentina's best player last night. He gave Higuain about 4 or 5 balls on a silver platter and Higuain only took one of them. He should slotted his chance in the 27th of extra time. But he wasn't shit. He was superb. It was a game of inches. Argentina could have won just as easily as they lost. It's not Messi's fault they lost.

People always roll that out, and it's completely hyperbolic. As someone on another forum said so well:

Biggest exaggeration is Maradona carried Argentina on his back like he was carrying San Marino. Like Valdano was some nobody and Ruggerri, and Burruchaga were water boys Valdano set up Pasculli's goal in the Round of 16 match against Uruguay for the only goal of the game yet it was only Maradona that carried the team. It was a team effort and a team that had a smart manager and a team that actually knew what they were doing.

Then the same thing is applied to Maradona and Napoli. People forget that the biggest part of Napoli winning the Scudetto with Maradona wasn't just that he was on the team. It was because the hierarchy at Napoli asked him who he wanted them to buy, and they built a team according to his wishes. The guy was playing with Donadoni, Ferrara, Bagni, de Napoli, Carnevale, Giordano, and Careca. Laughing

On the Messi issue there seems to be no middle ground. Views mostly lie at either end of the spectrum.
