    Gahan Quick Off The Mark

    New Scunthorpe manager Sam Gahan has had a quick start to life at Glanford Park being quick to bring new legs in, including the signing of Colin Cooper to be Gahans number two. Cooper is a former defender who spent most of his playing career at Nottingham Forest and Middlesbrough started his coaching career at Middlesbrough, starting as a reserve coach till he ended up being assistant manager for Gareth Southgate, he was then released by Gordon Strachan.

    Gahan who was employed at Scunthorpe due to success at school level in Australia, was quick to dispose of his old backroom staff except for first team coach Steve Parkin. Besides Cooper, Gahan has also hired Paul Mortimer, Tosh Farrell, and Allan Evans all as coaches, Alan Kelly as goalkeeping coach, and Adi Aymes as Fitness coach. He has also hired Steve Whitehall and Paul Hunter as Physios, while Antoine Sibierski, Simon Hunt, Peter Hoekstra, Glenn Cockerill and Ian Bowyer as Scouts. It is rumored Gahan is looking for one more coach and a youth coach after talks with Bobby Downes broke down due to wage restrictions.

    In terms of bringing in new players Gahan has been quick to act signing Salomon Kalous older brother Bonaventure on a free, while also signing German youngster Sebastian Hess was also signed on a free, Fabio Borini was brought in on loan from Chelsea, Scunthorpe also had to pay 120k for his services.

    In other transfer news for Scunthorpe, Gahan was at Englans Trialist games watching over Lee Molyneux who he has since offered a contract to. Spetim Muzliukaj another German youngster has also been brought in on trial, while a move for Daniel Aquino has since broken down.

    Things are set to quiet down at Glanford Park over the next coming of weeks, but Gahan has been quick to show his ambition of wanting to keep this club in the Championship, and it will have Scunthorpe United fans excited.

    Ended up signing Molyneux, and Muzliukaj. Signed John Murtough as coach and Gary Brazil as Youth Coach. I'm sorted for the season ahead.
