A perfect example is Charlie Adam. Great at long range passing, wouldn't be too unfair to say one of the best in the league.
But he is shit at everything else therefore would be a liability in a top 17 PL team.

Better at what? Just because a player has more attributes doesn't make him better in everything or always. But generally speaking, a player is better than another by excelling in their position. Attributes aren't the full story.
