Huddlestone reminds me of that cow from Barnyard.
Not really sure why to be honest. Maybe it's that he's big and kinda goofy looking.
Huddlestone like that cow have one thing in common though, they are both Black and White.

Re: Huddlestone or Gerrard?
if we are talking about who has had a better career overall its obviously Gerrard by miles but if we're talking about Englands needs right now then it's Huddlestone vs. an over the hill Gerrard and I'd take Huddlestone, no point in having guys like Gerrard and Lampard in the squad anymore.

Replace Rooney, Cole, Ferdinand and Terry too imo. What the fuck have they won for England?
I agree with you, except with Rooney, he is young and probably the best player talent wise England has, regardless of his shitty England streak. But Gerrard and Lampard should be replaced, they clearly can't play together in the first place even though England managers kept trying to play them together, now you are building towards the 2014 World Cup, no reason for Lampard or Gerrard to have any part in the 2014 world cup they will be too old by then. Start somebody else in the midfield, Wilshere, Huddlestone, Barton, Parker, anyone will do.

If Lampard and Gerrard are going to be too old by the Euro's, why have you selected Parker as a replacement??

Great to see this forum is mostly always posting about the great Liverpool Football Club and the deluded Scousers. I think theoo or filippo should just come out and tell us he does actually adore Liverpool Football Club i mean most of us Liverpool fans would understand the reason he love's our amazing club and its players.

you'd rather see two 35 year olds playing? They couldn't win shit when they were good and now that they are both past it you want them on the team still?
And no the CM pairing will most likely be Wilshere and someone, probably Milner, but Barton, Huddlestone, Henderson, Cattermole, Rodwell, Gosling, Cleverly, Muamba, Mceachren, Shevley, Michael Johnson, Chamberlain are all options. Or you can move someone like Adam Johnson, Ashley Young, or Stewart Downing to the middle of the park.
you gotta think towards the future. You've already had like 3 world cups with Lampard/Gerrard, do you really need a fourth? it's clear that as great as they are they will never win tournaments for England. You have to roll the dice and replace alot of the old guard.

Re: Huddlestone or Gerrard?
Lampard and Gerrard have only played two World Cups, and apart from that, there's another tournament before 2014, which England are exceedingly unlikely to win given the location.

You can keep the old guard until Euros if you really want that, although you won't even come close to winning (if you even qualify.) But for the next WC if you don't replace the old guard then you are pretty much waving the white flag.

If they continue to peform consistantly and play well then i don't see why they shouldn't be in the national team set up. It's not exactly their fault that we're not winning anything, is it?
The next World Cup is in 3 years time, thats plenty of time to call up a some players from the U21's to replace Gerrard and Lampard, but they've still got at least 2 years left in them. Maybe after the Euro's, but at the moment i wouldn't want Jordan Henderson or especially Lee Cattermole to replace Lampard in CM.

You don't know how some of those young players will progress over the next few years leading up to the WC. If I told you 5 years ago Jack Wilshere would be starting for England you might not believe it. They are all options that need to be watched closely. Some of them are ready to step in now and others certainly are not.

The point is Gerrard and Lampard are done, everyone knows them, everyone knows what they're capable of, hell you couldn't even qualify for Euros last time around, thats pathetic for a country like England. You know you aren't going to win anything with them. Some of these young guys though are live wires, you don't know what to expect from them and neither does the opposition. Sure alot of them need polishing but there is plenty of time for improvement from alot of those players while Lampard/Gerrard continue to get older and slower.

That's the worst example ever. Wilshere was 14 five years ago... nobody could have said he'd be starting for England. Everyone you listed are already playing for teams and some of them aren't even that young, it's quite obvious who out of them have the potential to start for England and which don't. Half of them aren't options, and none of them are ready to step in now.
