The U-21's side just represented a coach who is crumbling under media pressure to step down from his job, so rather than worry about working on the team's and individual's development, he set them out with he mentality to "win at all costs" and "play with passion" and "get it into the box" so he could save his own skin. Too bad it didn't work eh?

Re: Should Stuart Pearce Be Sacked?
under age football should never be about results, the teams from the 16's and to the 21's should all be playing in the same structure with the same mechanics on the way to play, but every under age team in England seem to play differently from one another as you have got coaches who are do not co-ordinate with eachother or the FA into making 1 syllabus for all to follow.

Yes, and capello and don't appoint redknapp.
And also only appoint coaches that encourage pass and move throughout and a manager who insists on one formation throughout the system.
And don't even think of trying to rob our academy staff!!!
P.S
John Mcmahon would do well for the u21's if he was given a go.

He isn't great, but no one was voicing that before the game. Two Czech goals doesn't really change anything, although in reality I bet a lot of people changed their opinions because of that.

Maybe not on this forum because no one here watches them play, but on any other general media outlet or in other English football forums, he should of been sacked a year ago!

They can have Steve Heighway. Good at winning youth cups, rubbish at developing players.

The last five years of his time here, only Steve Warknock really.
EDIT: Maybe I should re word. In his latter years here, he seemed more focused on winning that Fa youth cup, than developing players to transit into the first team.

Re: Should Stuart Pearce Be Sacked?
A manager who brings through youngsters is Keith Hill at Barnsley, hes a top quality manager, tbh you would have to look down the Lower divisions for an England under 21 Manager and they are some great ones like Ben said with Eddie Howe, it does not always have to be premier league.

He did amazing during the late 90's, but he got his priorities all wrong towards the end of his reign.

And his last gem was never given a fair go by Benitez, well he wasn't even given a go despite being talked up massively.

Hammill, and also Jack Hobbs.
Rafa never saw eye to eye with Steve, and whilst rafa is a good bloke he had total disregard for that youth group. Spearing the only one not culled.
We wouldn't have had a wing problem if he put some faith into Adam and not gone out and bought EL zhar, and Leto who couldn't even get a bloomin work permit.
Either way he'd still do a better job than Pierce although I hope they appoint McMahon who is a good coach.
