You don't know. I'm jealous for Chivas to reach the final, I was even more jealous that they weren't even South American.Ché Guayaba wrote:You don't know that.chiboygeorge wrote:Even with Hernandez in the final, you would have still lost. Inter, sadly, were too much for Chivas on both legs.Ché Guayaba wrote:Letting go of Ramon Morales. He still has a lot to give.
Letting Javier Hernandez go for a whole lot less than what he is worth.
Letting Javier Hernandez go before the Copa Libertadores final.
Appointing Raul Arias as manager.
Changing the team emblem(changed it back though)
I came in here knowing you where going to say that though.
2nd place is not bad for a team filled with nothing but 20-23 year olds though.
You guys did Mexico proud though.

Ronaldo and Tevez? I wouldn't say letting someone go who doesn't want to be here, and letting a dick head leave is a mistake.ResurrectionRooney wrote:Transfer policy in Summer 2009, set us back 4 years.

Valencia's done a good job of "replacing" him. Tevez is a cunt, fuck him.Filippo Inzaghi wrote:Not replacing them properly is however.Danny wrote:Ronaldo and Tevez? Ins and outs. I didn't mind Ronaldo and Tevez leaving, but I wanted us to sign players like Sneijder, Robben and Villa, instead we got Michael Owen, Valencia and Obertan. Then Sneijder and Robben had dominant seasons and Robben knocked us out of the CL.

I don't know, never said we'd win it, but we'd have had a better chance. Not too many good Mexican strikers that can score a lot of goals. That's why Chivas struggle. Chicharito was one of them, would of helped.
Mexico has like 9 wingers and one "10" and one goal scoring striker.

Valencia is a good player, but he is nowhere near talented enough to replace Ronaldo in any sense other than playing in a broadly similar position.

Re: Bad decision made by your club
Fair does. Owen and Obertan were fairly poor signings- apart from the fact Owen smashed the winner against City, and pissed off pretty much every Liverpool fan on here by winning a league medal. Valencia's been brilliant for us, obviously not directly replacing Ronaldo (no one could to that. )ResurrectionRooney wrote:Danny wrote:Ronaldo and Tevez? I agree, Mexico has soo many talented Wingers...who's behind chicharo at striker? De Nigris?Ché Guayaba wrote:I don't know, never said we'd win it, but we'd have had a better chance. You can't replace Ronaldo. Valencia wasn't brought in to be like Ronaldo. When Ronaldo left we changed the way we played, a different type of winger who hugged the touchline and was more direct.

But if I remember correctly you like De Nigris. I do too, but he needs a player like Suazo to be really effective in my opinion.

Re: Bad decision made by your club
Yes I like him, when he scored on sunday it was kind of emotional looking around seeing the Mexicans sing about him. But I mean like the quality after them is no where to be seen. Unless Cubo Torres can step up?Ché Guayaba wrote:Yeah.chiboygeorge wrote:I agree, Mexico has soo many talented Wingers...who's behind chicharo at striker? Not Signing Nolberto Solano on a free.
Selling so many Top-class players for peanuts.
Letting the likes of Parkinson and Lambert leave to other clubs.

Re: Bad decision made by your club
At Morton we made quite a few bad decisions recently. At the end of the season we decided to release quite a few of our players. Some of them were sensible decisions but we shouldn't have released McKinlay who is a good left back and our goalkeeper Cuthbert, who is without question, better than our number 1 Colin Stewart, who was handed a new contract.
We have made quite a few signings since the end of the season and for our standard they are mostly good players but the problem is. will they be able to gel?
In the last 3 years we have always had to perform at our best towards the end of the season because we had a very poor start. I fear that with an almost completely new squad again this season, it may be the same.

Re: Bad decision made by your club
Not getting rid of Hughes after losing at West Brom and falling into the bottom 3. Easy to say now but he was never up to the job, we were completely disorganised and he somehow turned good defenders into crap. The extra year we gave him after that set us back.
In terms of bad decisions with players Santa Cruz must be one of the worst sighings in the clubs history. 18 million for a player who by my reckoning was only fully fit for 1 game, pathetic.

Re: Bad decision made by your club
Buying Nathan Ellington for £3.3m+ clauses, on a £20k p/w wage + bonuses when we were in the Championship.
Fucking shit player, absolute bollocks and he alone almost put us into administration. Tbh....at the time we could've bought Chris Eagles, still had £2m+ (considering the £1m fee and smaller wages) to spend and probably would've been promoted that season (the one after we were relegated from the Premier League).

transfer policy this year (mainly in January)
Selling Henry.
Selling Gallas (as much as it pains me to say, he's been great for Spurs this season, we could have needed him)

Re: Bad decision made by your club
Telling Joey Barton and Shaun Wright Phillips that they will never be a professional footballer because of their height. Both turned out better than anything (except Michael Dawson, possibly Jermaine Jenas) our academy has produced since. Also released Tom Huddlestone from the academy and he then went to Derby's academy.
