At Blackburn Dalglish was working as Director of Football which made Hodgson's job very difficult, and at Liverpool Dalglish deliberately wrecked Hodgson's chances because he wanted the job. It's not really fair to judge him on those periods, when you have someone who the fans love working above you, it's something for the fans to use as a stick to beat you with, especially when he wants your job.

If Dalglish really wanted the job then he would have got it when it was vacant.

Hodgson was out of his depth, and his tactics, signings and training are very poor. If he continued as Liverpool manager, and had time to put his 'image' on the squad, we would have been facing mid table obscurity for many years. Fair play, he tried his best, but it wasn't good enough. We rightly sacked him.
