I think that he would have a point to prove as well.
A lot of people seem to only remember his last season as Liverpool manager and now call him a poor manager, based on that only.
Most people include his tenure at Inter in their judgment as well...

Please don't just use the European Cup as there is a lot more to a manager than however many Champions League's they have won.
While you deserved to win the CL in 2005, you have to admit that towards the latter stages you got a lot of luck.
The referee in the semi-final could have easily decided not to award you that 'ghost goal' and in the final the referee could have let Shevchenko retake that final penalty when Dudek came well off his goaline.
