whats the best away games you have been to ie for atmosphere and that
The best ive been to have been cheltenham, Bradford (can make a quality atmosphere in their away end), Chesterfield was also a good away game Smile
Morecambe was also good in their new ground as it is terracing so you make a great atmosphere because its quite tight and finally stevenage their fans made a lot of noise and so did we Smile

Leyton Orient away last game of the season 05/06 was quality. Went with my Dad and load of his mates in a Mini Bus. I was only 11 at the time though so I wasn't drinking obviously, but my Dad's mate were a right laugh on the way up. Stopped at some traffic lights in some town and one of them jumped out the bus, ran to this market shop by the side of the road and nicked a plastic chair then chucked it out the back of the bus on the way back. During the match one of them had brought a flare but had got the wrong colour so there was a Claret flare going off in the Forest end, but he didn't think not to do it as the seats were wooden so he ran through all the fans trying to dodge the stewards, and it worked. Also there was pretty good banter with one of the residents that lived in the flat in the corner nearest to away fans. Some fat bloke with his top off and was met with a barrage of abuse by our fans. Game was good too, won 3-1. Plus it was a really hot day.

Best away weekend would be the 2006 World Cup without a doubt. My Dad said if we beat Ecuador we'd drive to Germany, and camp in Gelsenkirchen for the weekend even if we couldn't get our hands on any tickets off the touts. We found some tickets on offer but it would have been 3000 Euros for the 3 of them (Me, Dad and his mate). Ended up going into Gelsenkirchen Fan Fest instead. Atmosphere was out of this world. Never came close to experiencing that atmosphere again for any football match. Even though we lost, it was a fucking fantastic weekend.

Only been to 3 away games, but it either Portsmouth vs Chelsea or Southampton vs Brighton. Both had good atmosphere just the Brighton match lacked the goals. So it would be the Portsmouth vs Chelsea one.

Been to quite a few but there are a few noticeable ones -

1)Lille away in the champions league in 2007, with my dad and a few mates. Away end was a death trap with too many reds in and poor policing, I actually feared for my life but atmosphere was amazing, best I have experienced in Europe. Fans were climbing the fences, abusing the police and just all round class atmosphere.

2)Elland Road, back when Leeds were good. Use to be the away game you always wanted to go to. Luckily enough my dad managed to get us tickets for it. Atmosphere was always heated with chants from Leeds "Munich, Munich" then Man United reply with "Galatasaray, Galatasaray" it always started things up and went from there.

3)Bolton, Blackburn and Villa are other ones which are usually good. Especially Bolton and Blackburn, usually take loads there and get given a large allocation which is good for atmosphere.

So, yea, was pretty spoilt in going to games as a kid, it was a lot cheaper back then though neu shades

Leicester away. We lost 4-0, did the conga and had the fat Leicester drummer by the away end starting Cheltenham songs as they felt sorry for us Laughing.

Leeds away was also brilliant. We took 500 on a tuesday in November and outplayed them. We were chanting "you will never beat us" which seemingly pissed them off. An old man with no teeth started on me there.

Mansfield in 2005. We won 5-0 and every 10 minutes throughout the game, the Mansfield fans invaded the pitch and I saw some Chavettes get rugby tackled in the middle of the pitch.

Rotherham in 2007. We were 2-0 down needing a win to guarantee safety and won 4-2. Was a party atmosphere as we were guaranteed to be staying in League one for the first time in our history

Not forgetting Burton Albion 2 seasons ago. The joy of running down the terracing 4 times in the last 6 minutes + injury time to win 6-5 was absolutely amazing. The FL show said it was one of the greatest comebacks of all time!

Carlisle in 2004. They had to win to avoid being relegated to the conference. There was a sell out and the atmosphere was very hostile and my brother got a few of there fans ejected for winding them up when we equalized. Was loads of police about but a quality atmosphere.

Aberdeen would be a lot better if I didn't live 25 minutes from the stadium.

But the atmosphere is mental, add that to the flares, smokebombs, and the fact that when Celtic score you end up 3 rows forward from where you started.
