If it does happen it's a good signing. To the ones that watch Ateltico, how is his composure with the ball? How's his kicking? We'll miss Vds so much for that.

Fucking hell i knew Jela would ejaculate on his computer screen and make a thread about it.
Could've just posted this in the Man United thread, like i did.

If he fills a 5 year contract he's definitely not going to stay that long

Not really surprising, they were always going to sign a new keeper. Looks like the didn't want Neuer after the shit second leg he had against them.

We never wanted Neuer, one good half against us didn't change that, neither did a shit game.

Not sure on De Gea. And United's records with goalkeepers isn't exactly 'great'. Could turn out to be a flop of a buy.

Why would you base this signing on previous goalkeeping signings, it doesn't make sense.Dean wrote:Not sure on De Gea. And United's records with goalkeepers isn't exactly 'great'. Could turn out to be a flop of a buy.
If you're not sure on De Gea, then you just don't know really.

Neuer has been as good as a Bayern player for a long time, was nothing to do with the United games...

Yeah I've never seen De Gea play live, so I don't know either.
I've heard good things, but it's tough for a 22 year old to come in and start at such a huge club, especially at the goalkeeper position. Just look at Ben Foster.
A former United player said on sky sports he's got the talent but he needs to prove his mental toughness. Comes down to that really.

On our record with keepers, we had Schmeichel from 91 til 99 (?) and Edwin from 2005 till 2011, so we've had about 14 years service out of two keepers.
Tim Howard was good as well
We did have a bit of a bad patch inbetween.. but I don't see how that's relevant to De Gea.

De Gea is basically San Iker in his younger years so any team thats wanted a potential world class keeper just missed him

And why's that? Just because I don't agree he's the 'be all and end all' that Utd fans will now be saying he is? I watch Spanish football. And know enough of him to judge. Fantastic shot stopper, but got a mistake or three in him. It could all wrong, specially with him being so young, one mistake and he'll up against from day one. The pressure is on him immensely.

With Van Der Sar retiring, De Gea has definitely chosen the best club to get game time with, 100% gonna be the next spanish no. 1

Yeah my point was our "record with goalkeepers" makes no difference.Dean wrote:kyro7 wrote:Why would you base this signing on previous goalkeeping signings, it doesn't make sense.Dean wrote:Not sure on De Gea. Yeah if you think all that then fine, he might be a flop I don't know.

Fair enough you've struck it lucky with two great keepers, and how long has Ferguson been managing the club? 25 years? He's bought more shite goalkeepers than good ones mate. That's a fact.

De Gea will never be Spains Number 1 because he doesn't play for Real Madrid or BarcelonaArsenal wrote:With Van Der Sar retiring, De Gea has definitely chosen the best club to get game time with, 100% gonna be the next spanish no. 1

He's got to get past Casillas, Reina and Valdes first. Good luck.

Casillas is 30, Reina's not that much younger, Valdes has only ever played 3 times for Spain, and De Gea is 20. Even better for us if he'll take a while to be Spain's number 1.Dean wrote:He's got to get past Casillas, Reina and Valdes first. Good luck.
