How to spot a psychopath

Interesting read here, it's a story about a guy who got put into a mental home on purpose to avoid prison, then realized it was a bad idea but couldn't convince them he was faking it.

It's a journalistic piece, so it's obviously a true story incase that wasn't obvious.

Reading that made me get a weird feeling in my stomach.. people thinking you're insane.

Just read about the guy that got put in there because he lied.

That must be fucking horrible.

Yeah, but they decided he was a psychopath once he was inside.

This was really interesting, and thinking about it, I'm sure some people can relate to something on the psychopath checklist.

Faking insanity to get out of a crime is a really shit idea.

The only time it was useful was when they had the death penalty, you'd plead insanity in order to go to a secure hospital for the rest of your life. I would sooner plead guilty to any crime than plead insanity, you either get a fixed term and then you're allowed to walk, or you're in jail for the rest of your life. Even then, I'd rather be in jail with normal criminals for the rest of my life than in a spaz-house.

There probably wasn't much to do in Broadmoor but eat. I wondered if any of them were famous. Broadmoor was where they sent Ian Brady, the Moors murderer, and Peter Sutcliffe, the Yorkshire Ripper.

Failed. They were sent to Ashworth. If the reporter did any research he would have known this.

Reminds me of a study I learnt about in Sociology. A group of researchers got themselves committed, they then acted completely normal once inside and measured how long it took until someone noticed they didn't belong there. Took a long ass time.
