Lose Tevez and gain Aguero and they're no more of a title threat than they were last season.

I'm kidding I honestly dont think they'll win it, they will do similarly to this year. Some matches they looked title worthy and other matches like against Everton and Liverpool where they got beat down I was wondering what the hell they were doing.

Unless something drastic happens I fully expect Man U to win the league

If City can get better deep ball playing midfielders instead of Barry and De Jong then I believe they will win the Premier League..If not, I still can't see them winning it.

Correct. There's no point having all these strikers when there's no-one to provide a connection between attack and midfield. A bit like what Libpool have with Gerrard and Arsenal with Fabby.

Silva's not really got the range of passing. Yaya Toure.. mehh, he's not got the passing either. I'm not talking about an attacking midfielder. I'm talking about a central midfielder who can distribute the ball. I should have said Alonso instead of Gerrard. Would have made more sense.

If City can get a beast like Schweinsteiger or/and David Pizarro in their team...they'd win the league easy.

Barry, maybe, De Jong? No way. De Jong is one of the best in his position, I wouldn't swap him for anyone. He is by far our most important midfielder.

De Jong is a rib breaker. Defensively he's complete with the occasional great drives forward but to tell me you wouldn't switch him out for someone like Schweinsteger who is superior in every aspect is a joke.

Barry is terrible and De Jong is just a leg breaker. Get Milner in there he at lest shows some promise from time to time.

The team wouldn't function the same with Schweinsteger in it instead of De Jong. To be clear, he offers very little going forward, but what he does offer is consistent defense and he's there 90% of the time as an outlet to keep possession. I'm not saying Schweinsteger isn't good (a player I very much like, actually), but he doesn't do the same role. We don't need someone who goes box to box so much. Perhaps in place of Barry he would do well though.

There is no need for Barry imo. Toure and De Jong would work well as the 2 in a 4-2-3-1 formation, that would suit Silva and Kun too but I'm not sure who would play the wider roles...think

I agree with Zzonked, you need two kinds of players in Midfield, a destroyer who's main job is simply to break down attacks and then someone with a little more craft and attacking quality

Barry was excellent last season but we probably do need a more complete player in that position to move onto the next level. As for de Jong he is our most important player and we'd be relegated without him.

I believe the team would function even better with Schweinsteiger and Yaya as the deep players. There you have two who can do two jobs at the same time instead of one defending and one attacking...they can easily alternate and cause problems to other teams. I'd see De Jong's job as that much critical if City's wingbacks attacked up and down all game but take De Jong out, add Schweinsteger and you have a much more fluid midfield also you have even more depth in midfield in case of injuries.

If I was the owner/manager I'd buy Bastian, partner him with Yaya Toure.

    Schweinsteiger - Yaya Toure
    Silva
    Aguero --- Tevez
    Dzeko

I'd also be interesting if they played a sort of a 4312.

    De Jong
    Schweinsteiger - Toure

    Silva
    Aguero --------------------- Tevez

Tevez and Aguero won't be like main strikers, but forwards coming from outside to inside. And width from wingbacks? Agüero moving to City - Page 25 214775

He's more of a De Jong player, but he's also very good at the Deep lying playmaker role being referred to here.
