Seems the main reason he'd be leaving is to be closer to his family. They're in Argentina, so I don't see how a move anywhere else in Europe helps. I can't imagine a Argentinean club could afford to buy him if we demand £40+ million.

Nah, it's cos he split up with his wife and she got the kids and moved back to Argentina. Doubt she'll move anywhere for him.
