3rd-4th is a more realistic goal. Title challenges take years of building up to.
Er, well I totally disagree with that. It's sort of annoying to hear people say...let's not get carried away people. It really does, or just a defeatist attitude already 'We won't win the league?'.
I mean....why not? Why can't we think big and dream big? Why do we have temper anything right now? I know this much, at the start of last season, I was not optimistic whatsoever about our prospects of doing well because I had absolutely zero confidence in our ownership, the boardroom, and most certainly no confidence in the manager was our Manager. (Even though I blindly backed him, that's another story though)
But all that has changed. We have the best owners in sports owning our club who actually know what they're are doing. We have an outstanding Chief Executive who has only proven himself already time and time again as an excellent executive and who is a Liverpool fan through and through to boot. We have a Director of Football who is well respected, has a very good track record and has already put in an impressive shift in the short time he has been our Director.
And then we have the best one-two punch in management-coaching in football in my opinion, well certainly up there.
Why is winning titles starting next season not realistic? No one said it was going to be a walk over.....it never is. But that doesn't mean it's not glory we can't earn and achieve and I for one don't want to hear any talk of timid and tempered expectations. Don't be afraid of being confident that we can and will be the best again because we have the right people to get us there. Pure and simple.
