Few years ago we played Thursday then SATURDAY LUNCHTIME AWAY TO CHELSEA... and if I remember correctly, we were away for the european game as well. So no, it's not always that. Plus when we played Carling Cup final against United we played Monday-Thursday-Sunday.

The problem with a 17:00 kick off is that people will struggle to get off work to make the game on time. This would lead to worse crowds.

Uefa should just schedule the games on tuesdays and wednesdays to alternative weeks to the Champions League.

It was a Thursday and it's always stuck in my mind because of how pissed off I was at the scheduling, either Sky could show it on Sunday or European game scheduled for Wednesday.

It was a Thursday and it's always stuck in my mind because of how pissed off I was at the scheduling, either Sky could show it on Sunday or European game scheduled for Wednesday.

That's shit. They've made sure it doesn't happen now, they plan fixtures way in advance which is why we've played on a Sunday so much and still are.
