makes the matches tuesday and wednesday, kick off 5:30 or 5:00 before the CL games

this way teams involved arent playing thursday in place miles away and then their league on the weekend

i think this would be more appealing to teams

Don't think that would work, people would just see it as an under-card to the main event, the TV ratings would go down as well. Wanna make the competition important? Double the prize money. Neutral

A* for utter stupidity. It's the prize money that's the problem. Thursday > Sunday is the same as Wednesday > Saturday.

Europa League will never be quarter as good as the Champions League.

Giving it a new name, won't fix it either Laughing

Few years ago we played Thursday then SATURDAY LUNCHTIME AWAY TO CHELSEA... and if I remember correctly, we were away for the european game as well. So no, it's not always that. Plus when we played Carling Cup final against United we played Monday-Thursday-Sunday.

    From last season it is.

You sure it was a Thursday game? Because sometimes there are Wednesday games for no apparent reason.

The problem with a 17:00 kick off is that people will struggle to get off work to make the game on time. This would lead to worse crowds.

Uefa should just schedule the games on tuesdays and wednesdays to alternative weeks to the Champions League.

It was a Thursday and it's always stuck in my mind because of how pissed off I was at the scheduling, either Sky could show it on Sunday or European game scheduled for Wednesday.

That's shit. They've made sure it doesn't happen now, they plan fixtures way in advance which is why we've played on a Sunday so much and still are.

It was before the reformatting of the Europa League though when it was the UEFA Cup, so they've probably kept it since it changed.
