It's not impossible.....but I doubt Belgium have the quality in depth or capacity to keep producing top players.

Vermaelen was injured once in his whole career and it was an Achilles problem no-ones ever seen before, he went to multiple specialists but they didn't do anything.

Otherwise Vermaelen doesn't get injured.

Vermaelen had a great fitness record last season and in all his years with Ajax.

You forgot Thorgan Hazard, Eden's younger brother who is supposed to be even more highly rated than Eden, and Jordan Lukaku, although I'm not sure what he is like.

Many teams have had a "golden generation" and have never lived up to it.

Kompany and Fellaini are sort of injury prone. Crump everybody recognises them as one of the up and coming teams but theres no guarantee they will be one of the best. Look at England we were supposed to be one of the best with this so called "golden generation"

He thought the ball was going to go in the air his feet were realitively low, it didn't look like there was malice in it.

They have some great players to come through but it takes more than just individuals to become a really good team. Look at Serbia for example they have better individuals in their pool than so many other countries. Other countries like Switzerland, Australia, England etc don't have those kind of technically gifted individuals that Serbia have but if you watch Serbia play, they are so unco-ordinated especially against teams that bunker

I've never seen the big fiasco with Witsel, sure he broke someones leg, but it's football, bad challenges happen.

It's not like he's some sick guy who captured a guy and chopped his leg off..

The tackle was 100% intentional. Witsel *spits on floor* even said it was in revenge for a hard challenge Wasyl gave him earlier the game.

What I hate the most is that Witsel fought with the ref over the card, stormed off the pitch swearing, and tried appealing the fine and red card later.

Compared to Shawcross who forgot his own injury after the tackle, rushed immediately to Ramsey's side in tears and cried whilst walking off the pitch, and later visited Ramsey in the hospital regularly.

Anyway, Witsel is talentless as well. He is one of those players who doesn't really have any skill and just uses his weight on the field.
