I thought it would be cool to do something like the Golden Shoe award here but without a point system or any true bias involved. This should be interesting to follow.

Isn't the point system there to eliminate bias and provide the most deserving winner?

Not really, its more biased in favour of the big leagues.

It gives the goal scorers more points for scoring in those leagues, yes.

But doesn't that mean it gives a true representation of who's been in the best form for their league? I could score 60 goals in Sunday leagues and be better than Messi with no formula applied, but that means it's biased towards leagues with worse defense. However, if I scored say, 200 goals, it may mean I'm so far above that league my performances have been better comparatively to the people around me than Messi.

Also since Kenny Miller has played for two different teams in two different countries I doubt he would be eligable for the actual award but it is fun thing to follow.

He should be disqualified for being a cunt. Though then you would have to disqualify Ronaldo as well.

I remember last season there was a thread like this, but from right at the beggining and Suarez won it. Bit dissapointed as it's not as the there aren't as many goals as last time.

So how are lower league strikers like Danny Graham, Mackail Smith etc then?

Easily better leagues than Northern Ireland, Hungary etc..
