Because swearing to the referee is just like swearing to millions of unsuspecting people.

I can hear people swearing at refs all the time on TV, doesn't make it right. Respect campaign is a load of shit IMO any way, to lenient.
At the end of the day a ban is harsh.

I bet if Gerrard did it, the Mancs, especially EretionRooney, would have a riot.

Yeah, but they didn't run over to the camera and shout it out did they?
A ban is not harsh. Drogba was banned for 3 years after swearing on TV after the watershed. A 2 game ban for Rooney is not harsh.

3 years?
That was UEFA who banned him. A ban is harsh, every one is saying its a poor from the FA. I'm not saying it is right but banning him isn't the right decision.

The FA's decision has been questioned by Professional Footballers' Association chief Gordon Taylor.
In a statement issued on the PFA website, Taylor said: "Whilst the use of foul and abusive language is not condoned, there is an acceptance by all parties within the game that 'industrial language' is commonly used.
"It becomes an issue when directed towards match officials. However, when used in a spontaneous way in celebration or frustration then it is not normally expected to merit a sanction.
"If sanctions are to be imposed in such circumstances then this has to be done in a balanced and consistent manner, and participants made aware of this fundamental change in approach."

For the swearing he doesn't deserve a ban. The elbow he got away with though is probably in hindsight karma for the granny shagging twat.

What a load of shit when other teams constantly get bad decisions they just accept it. When United do (even though all the punishments they got seemed fair) their fans have a little fit. Where the fuck are you when Liverpool or Chelsea get the bad end of the stick ? Oh its all fine and dandy when they get shafted by "bias" against them.

Lol at an Arsenal fan talking about accepting things when your manager is Arsene Wenger.grenade187 wrote:What a load of shit when other teams constantly get bad decisions they just accept it. He is not swearing directly at the camera, so it is an invalid scenario.

What do you mean? There's nothing about swearing at a camera in the rules, the rules say you are not allowed to use foul and abusive language.

Are you ever going to talk about Manchester United without being addicted to Liverpool? All your posts seem to contain anti-Liverpool content.
Anyway, was this on Sky Sports where millions of people could hear him swearing? No. If you actually watched the match, you could not even hear what Reina was saying and he was not looking directly into the lens looking mad swearing loudly.
If you watch any football match, there will be swearing but they will not shout it so the whole stadium and cameras can hear it. You can't even accept you have a diver on your team

It was just an example of a player swearing and not being punished for it. There's nothing in the rules about how many people hear it, if Reina used foul and abusive language then he is every bit as guilty as Rooney. Rooney is the only one who gets vilified and punished for it though.

Has a player walked up the Camera before, and swore directly into it?

But obviously the FA want to ruin Man United and the referees are totally against them...how could I forget

He hasn't been punished for going up to the camera, he's been punished for using foul and abusive language.

He has been punished for using foul language directly at a TV camera which was broadcasted in front of millions of people and thousands of children who idolize him and want to be like him when he grows up. I also think the FA were thinking of the unpunished elbow on McCarthey when they gave the ban, so there's no doubt he deserves it.ResurrectionRooney wrote:He hasn't been punished for going up to the camera, he's been punished for using foul and abusive language.
I'm arguing with someone who thinks Man United never dive, instead they just help referees make correct desicions

There's no rule about TV cameras though.
