    You've got to take into account that Busquets is mainly a holding midfielder, while none of Fabregas, Alonso, Iniesta and Xavi are. And I think, from those 4 there, Fabregas was the only unlucky one in the World Cup final.

    Arsenal fans have a point though, as did Kyro. Arsenal aren't exactly struggling for players in that position, Song's brilliant at it. And Kyro did mention along the lines of how well Busquets could play regularly without Iniesta and Xavi alongside him..

    Busquets is better than song. Neutral

    As Xavi says, there isn't a better one touch passer in world football than Sergio B.

    I know they're different players, my point wasn't Busquets is better than Fabregas. My point was that Arsenals best player didn't start the game Busquets did. If Song was Spanish, he more than likely wouldn't get in the Spanish team, Busquets is a regular in it.

    And Danny, I would say Alonso is a holding midfielder.

    I never said Song was better than him, I said Arsenal aren't exactly looking for a player of Busquet's mould, so it isn't surprising to see many of them saying no because they have song. Neutral

    Zzonked, I guess Alonso is in a way. But I think he's wasted as a holding/defensive midfielder, especially if he's the only one- which really would restrict his impact going foward.

    Busquets and Song are suited for different roles. Song is an Anchorman/Defensive Midfielder (who bombs forward for some reason shifty) while Busquets is more don't know... fluid. Neutral He is equally adept for the technical side of the game and regularly helps in attack.

    Arsenal don't need that player, they need an anchorman and have one in Song. In the current Arsenal 4-5-1, Song is a better fit.

    'cept that Arsenal this season are playing a more fluid 4-2-3-1 with Wilshere and Song both playing in CM, both getting forward while the other stays back to cover. Most tactic sites show this.

    Hence the 'bombing' forward, Arsene has given his the freedom to do that this season. Even though he's not suited to that role as well as a purely holding player.

    I'll try and explain my point better, here's what I think I meant:

    Busquets is more important to the Spanish national side than Fabregas.

    Fabregas is more important to the Arsenal side than Song.

    So therefore, Busquets would be more important than Song.

    Probably still leaves room for the position comparison, but just accept that I made a bad point, okay. It was a bad point. Bottom line, I think Busquets would start for Arsenal okay? Done. taxi

    But you are comparing two different teams. That's just not a good comparison at all.

    And? Song is still the DM in the formation. All this proves is that Song is not that bad in playing a more Busquets-type role.

    Plus Song only plays like that when the whole first team is fit, which isn't often.

    So did Xavi and Iniesta yet until Fabregas came on none of them did anything. Took Cesc how long to setup a goal? Laughing

    Anyway Arsenal have won every game when we have started this apart from Man City at home where we got a draw, so there is no reason to swap Song for anybody.
