Dragon Age II

Just remembered that I forgot to fight the high dragon at the bone pit.

Tried once, got my ass handed to me and then forgot to try again before ending the game.

Fuck, that was horribly difficult for me. Constantly ended up the last man standing, took ages.

What team did you use to beat it?

Can't remember. But I'd say take Fenris, Aveline and Bethany/Anders. You need people who can absorb considerable damage (Aveline), and inflict some (Fenris)

You can have only 4 at once right? Haven't played in ages.

Started a game in Dragon Age Origins as a female City Elf. Been a long time.

I played Origins a few months ago for the first time in ages and it was fucking awful. The characters moved around so awkwardly, interaction was painfully dull, fighting was just so, so bad, the attacks and animations just looked plain retarded. It looked and felt so much like an old PC game.

Honestly have no idea how I ever put up with that shit before.

Was actually thinking of playing DAII earlier today but I left it cause I didn't want to soil my memory of such a great game, like it did for Origins.

Nah, I still find it great. While my mute character is a turn-off after DA2, the combat is as good, maybe better. Interaction is nice and simple. Guess you're not good at going back to previous games.

Also, how would playing DA 2 taint your memories? That's like expecting to play ME2 and be disappointed after all those two years.

Is there any news on DA 3?

I don't know how anyone can hate on DA1. That game was amazing.

Enemy- The Tevinter Imperium. Although up to now the enemy have been outlandish creatures.

I am, I go back to previous games all the time but Origins is just unbearable for me.

Mass Effect is a bit different to Dragon Age. Hard to explain but it's quite easy to pick up and play ME at anytime, Dragon Age isn't quite the same. I'm sure it would be fine it I played DA2 anyway, it's just I would rather not in case I start to find out bad things about it.

Taking out at least two thirds of the enemy with my mage. The force mage specialisation looks pretty bad-ass.

The animated film Dawn of the Seeker was pretty good if any of you DA fans felt like checking it out.

My mate said he was dying for a new RPG and he said he's never played Dragon Age, so I'm lending him mine. I'm jealous of him.

Yeah, the film was all right.

I guess I thought it was better than it actually was because I hadn't played either DA game in a long time. We've already seen the "warrior mistrusts the mage" theme being played out plenty of times, so it was a tad unoriginal in that regard.

The Seeker kicks a lot of ass, though.

The action all seemed sort of stupid too. Like one seeker running through tons of mages fucking them up and they weren't even using because I guess they thought they'd prefer more of a challenge or something. Then later on the opposite happens, mages fucking up warriors with magic.

I have read one of the books they made as a prequel to the first game, it was actually pretty good.

The Stolen Throne? I might check it out.

I think there are actually three of them by that David Gaider guy.

The Witcher universe is also quite good.

Yeah, it's rather intriguing.

I haven't made much progress in the first Witcher game, but I was thinking of getting The Last Wish.

What is this Universe thing you are talking about, I'm so confused.

Yeah the Stolen Throne. It's about King Maric and Loghain meeting then getting rid of the Orlesians from Ferelden.

I have the other books, but I've never got around to reading them. I've got so many books to get through right now.

The universe as in, the world that they have created where all the Dragon Age stuff takes place.
