I wouldn't say yet that they're the best ever. Real Madrid won 5 European Cups in a row in the 50's, Ajax and Bayern have both won it three times in a row at some point. If this Barcelona team can match that, then maybe they could be the best team ever.

The 1986-90 Liverpool team would wipe the floor with any modern team today. Not assed.

To be fair, most of the people who said Barca will batter Arsenal were specifically mentioning the second leg or over the two legs. There is still a chance.

The did batter Arsenal........ For 75 minutes...

is not simply about winning trophies

real madrid did not have much competition in 50's times, they monopolized continental football in those days on top of fact the european cup was very small competition in those times

liverpool team in 80s that win so many trophies was a very good team, of course they had a few individuals who were the best in the world in their times but it was a team unit, they had many games in europe where they were under constant pressure. many times they did not have as good as individual personel as many other teams at that time. infact man for man they were not a very fashionale team. i woul[d say the primary source of their success was bob paisley who in his time was the best manager in world football. he was very proffesional person and then when dalglish took over, he was perhaps the first "modern" coach when he took over that liverpool team, he introduced many new facets of football that are in use today, you would not realize what things he implemented especially technological invention, his training methods and football brain was not matched in 80s

if you putting that liverpool team in its peak against barcelona, they would get completely outplayed however they may manage to find a way to win but i very much doubt it

this barcelona team, in every position is a world class player of their time including some of the best for decades, i can still only count only one other team in history to have a similar feat which was ac milan team in 90s when they had basically the best player in the world in almost every position

Im not saying they would wipe the floor with the best teams of today but they were up there with them, but dont forget the teams from the late 70,s that won 4 European trophy's in a 3 season spell and more and dont forget the other teams that Liverpool had before the 86 to 90 season's that won so much. The team from 87,88 to 90,91 was as good to watch as any but the other Liverpool teams from before won more.
