The best players don't have confusing long names

This is a funny debate I overheard walking around town yesterday, somebody said the best players always have easy to pronounce short names. Whereas players with long confusing names don't make it as big, what a load of tosh. But, what do you guys think?

Kaka
Took me ages to get the pronunciation right when he first came on to the scence. I said it as 'Car-Car' for around 2 years...

The argument is that the best players always have short or easy names to pronounce. Jo is not one of the best players in the world.

That's the point, Jo has a short name and is rubbish so therefore he disagrees with the theory.

But the theory is not saying that all players with short and easy names are the best. It's saying the best have easy and short names. It's like saying All A's are B's, but not all B's are A's.
