Re: Rooney is out of this world
okay but you were knocking rooney because of his England form, and I was trying to tell you that England midfield didn't help him much.mauro wrote:chiboygeorge wrote:now this is total shit. 30 tap ins and penalties?mauro wrote:u act like i only say these things since recently?
i have never rate rooney. amazing how u can say he has great first touch when it continualy let him down
player like drogba, ibrahimovic, torres can make something out of impossible situation
rooney is mr predictable, he cannot win a game on a whim like those others can withh piece of brilliance
for sure torres was suck last season many things can be blamed by this but his form prior is far superior to anything rooney has ever achieved. is amazing 30 tap ins and penalties suddenly turned him into a mass media hype machine
Rooney is predictable yet he still scores goals....
He can't win a game with a piece of brilliance? Okay Rooney might not be as techically sound as Ibra & co. but why does that make him a mediocre player?
Torres form still can't win anything for Liverpool, but Rooney's can for Utd...I know which one I'd prefer in a team.
u seriously try to compare a club like liverpool with man u? might as well compare fiorentina with internazionale
torres could be maradona if he wanted to, still would not make liverpool a better team than man u
and yes 30 tap in and penalties
You still haven't told me why Rooney is mediocre or how him not having lots of technical ability make him mediocre?

Except not slightly, more than slightly.
He is still a great striker, but he isn't what I would consider world class like how other strikers are.

I never said that. I look down on people who say that. Complete utter stupidity.

And my opinion regarding Rooney has always been the same, just never said it out loud, because it was just one of those things better left unsaid(especially given my position held as the racist anti english xenophobic cunt of the forums ). Today I was giving the opportunity though.

rooney form in world cup was just relative to all aspects of his ability and other english player who are make to look better than they really are because of foreign influence in the epl in their club team
either way, u asking me why rooney is mediocre and has no technical ability? have u not been reading my posts or what?

I don't rate him MUCH higher than the likes of Darren Bent. IE he is a good EPL striker. Better than good.
Just I don't think he is world class, and if he is, at the very very bottom of the list of world class strikers.

Re: Rooney is out of this world
so kyro
r u insinuating that i am putting rooney on par with player like craig beattie? then u are misinformed
saying he is extremely athletic player with technical ability similar to darren bent is not underrating him at all. rooney compensate for his limited talent with his ahtletic prowess. it make him useful outlet for man u who require a goalpoacher but does not even put him close to up to 10 other players who are not only as ahtletic as rooney but also have far superior technical quality

Re: Rooney is out of this world
i dont see what is wrong comparing his technioque to darrent bent. the only major difference is rooney is better forward passer but general thing like touch ability to shift ball to different feet and to manipulate in tight areas are very identical
beyond this, rooney obviously superior in pace and physique, probably shooting as well but he is hardly at all better technically than bent. he is much closer to bent in technique than he is to drogba for instance

I didn't say he wasn't.
But they are both in similar stature IMO of ability. Just Rooney is a couple steps ahead.

Re: Rooney is out of this world
is funny they automatically assume we are saying he is not better t han bent just because we compare his technique with bent
rooney ahtletic ability is what make him a lot better than bent! i dont know why this is so hard to understanding
look at it like this
ambrosini has similar technical quality with essien, infact very close. but essien athletic traits make ambrosini like a weakling. this is why essien is far better
for strikers, i use drogba(pre malaria) as example except swap technique and athleticism
drogba and rooney have almost identical physical traits, both strong, both fast BUT drogba has far superior technique. this is why drogba is a lot better than rooney

No, it seems to me you only think Rooney is mediocre is because he has no technical abilities...if having technically abilities was the greatest espect in making a player into a great player...why is it that the likes of Quaresma have failed?mauro wrote:chiboygeorge wrote:okay but you were knocking rooney because of his England form, and I was trying to tell you that England midfield didn't help him much.mauro wrote:chiboygeorge wrote:now this is total shit. 30 tap ins and penalties?mauro wrote:u act like i only say these things since recently?

what a stupid comparison
comparing absolute failures of players compared to the top tier just showing how desperate you are becoming
go through the best players in history in every decade, all of them had technical qualities that setting them apart from everyone else
plz find me a kick and rush player that ever won balon dor? even english greats like kevin keegan and bobby moore had incredible technical ability. rooney is an embarrassment compared to some of the few individual english players that were the best in the world in their time
the way u include quaresma, i might as well include paul mcshane. if ur not going to use the top tier players then dont say anything at all. quaresma's technique at least allowed him to becoming a pro. without it he would not even be playing football. the same technique that allow messi and ronaldo to dominate football in this age
technique = most important aspect of football...what surprise me the msot is that u r brasilian and u seem to have no interest in technique

Re: Rooney is out of this world
Yea, I have been waiting for you to say something about me being Brazilian and not having interest about technique. I for one love technique this is why I always defend Serie A/La Liga play over English play. Trust me I prefer watching technical players and think technique is one of best things about football but technique doesn't automatically mean you are amazing. You have to combine that skill with something else to make you a great player.mauro wrote:awesomekyro7 wrote:Mauro mate, I'm going to cut your anus off and eat it on toast.chiboygeorge wrote:No, it seems to me you only think Rooney is mediocre is because he has no technical abilities...if having technically abilities was the greatest espect in making a player into a great player...why is it that the likes of Quaresma have failed?mauro wrote:chiboygeorge wrote:okay but you were knocking rooney because of his England form, and I was trying to tell you that England midfield didn't help him much.mauro wrote:

What I'm just saying is how can he be mediocre just because he doesn't have the best skill ability in the world? I mean he's no Ronaldo or co but he's certainly a great player that is composed of more that just technical skills. Why I brought Quaresma into this is because he's a prime example of a player with superb skills that everyone admires, but just doesn't mix it with something else. Rooney has skill, but not as much as you seem to want him to have...so then you say his mediocre..You understand what I mean?
I think maybe you should watch some of his games in that 08/09 season...that was the season where I've seen Rooney beat defenders more than any other season.
