Rooney to Arsenal
Nothings been said about this, but if Rooney was to leave Manchester United. How would you feel if he came to us? What if Wenger pulls out something mental this winter like van Persie and a lump some of money for Wazza. Just my thoughts, anyone?

Re: Rooney to Arsenal
It would never happen.
Arsenal wouldn't spend that type of money.
Ridiculous wages.
I don't think he'd play for any other team in England anyway.

Re: Rooney to Arsenal
Yeah thats true, Wengers fair wage budget structure would probably make him not come. Plus I think he may feel he would be "bigger than the club".

It would go against Wenger's policy of no english players and no spending money.

Re: Rooney to Arsenal
Don't want him at Arsenal although he'd definitely suit our style of play. But Van Persie>Rooney I wouldn't want Robin to leave us.

Re: Rooney to Arsenal
I wouldn't swap Van Persie for Rooney but if Wenger put in a hefty bid for him he would be fantastic in our system, considering we wouldn't rely on him for goals.
His footballing ability is great.

Arsenal have already fielded five English players so far this season...
Wilshere, Lansbury, Gibbs, Walcott and Emmanuel-Thomas.

If by "footballing" you mean the use of one's foot on somebody else's balls, then I agree.

No i mean his passing, movement, positioning, work-rate and tactical awareness. He could play any position to a high level.menalawyerguy wrote:The-Reporter wrote:I wouldn't swap Van Persie for Rooney but if Wenger put in a hefty bid for him he would be fantastic in our system, considering we wouldn't rely on him for goals.

At least we're bringing them through, a lot of Chelsea players in the academy end up being released with no club just to go work in Mcdonalds. How many players around English football have came from Arsenal? Loads I tell you.

I wouldn't want Rooney in an Arsenal shirt. There are other players who would be a much better fit.
