2. Don't make the players hate me
Why'd they fire that last guy again? They were mid table and the players loved him. Seems he had this new cunt's two primary goals nailed down pretty solidly.

Pardew: My focus is to stay up
December 9, 2010
New Newcastle boss Alan Pardew has claimed that his immediate concern is on keeping the club in the Premier League and said he hoped he would be able to get his message across to his players without them resenting him.
Pardew's first press conference at St James' Park was full of questions about his future at the club, but he maintained that he "wanted to be tough on the length of the contract and try and give myself as much stability with a club that hasn't had much stability with managers."
Chris Hughton was sacked with the Magpies 12th in the table and Pardew, who mispronounced Hughton's name and referred to Newcastle as a town rather than a city, said: "It is difficult because it is fairly obvious the players had respect for Chris Hughton. The fact he has gone has caused somewhat of a stir, people are upset and I can understand that.
''I'm privileged to be sitting here and looking forward to a tough job. But it's difficult because it's fairly obvious the players and fans had tremendous respect for Chris and the fact he's gone has caused something of a stir.''
"The problem I am going to have initially is the players. I have got to make sure I get my message across with clarity, quickly, without them carrying any resentment towards me at this juncture when they are doing particularly well.
"I have contacted Kevin Nolan the captain and will speak to the players tomorrow."
However, Pardew claims he is not facing a public relations fight. He said: "It is not a PR battle, because I don't think I am going to win a PR battle. The battles I need to win are on the pitch. I know the passion that is here. When you see this stadium in the middle of the town it is something else, the temptation to have the chance of being manager is something I could not turn down."
The January transfer window is looming and Pardew has vowed to press for every penny he can. "I am the one that has to knock on the door," he said. "I have never had a problem with that in the past. At West Ham I knocked the door down for Dean Ashton and I will be knocking on the door to try and get the funds to make this club as great as it can be."
On his backroom team, Pardew explained: ''I'm going to try to bring in a coaching team I feel will work well with me and this set of players - but in the short-term I'm going to take Steve Stone and Peter Beardsley for the Liverpool game.
''They have obviously been close to what Chris has been doing. I don't want to disrupt things massively and will keep it much the same for this game and next week will look to get staff secured and start putting into place what I feel can act as a team.''
Pardew also admitted: ''I've had a lot of texts from managers saying 'you must be mad going in there' but it's a massive club, one of the top five in the country I'd suggest. I'd never be able to live with myself if I didn't take that on.''
