Shocking stuff. Do any of our resident theists have any thoughts on this? If God does exist he seems to be making it pretty clear which side he's on.

Who are you to question the work of the Almighty, he has his reasons. You don't know.

This lightning was harmless. Those who died would not have felt the crush, God has this power.

It is unfortunate for those who have been hurt, but this is a test for them. God works in mysterious ways. You don't know.

Those who were there are blessed. This is God communicating with them. This is very special you don't know.

Who knows maybe God was sending lightning bolt to mecca for spectacular light show for the blessed and simply missed.

God makes mistakes (again those who died would have passed peacefully when he realized). He has made mistakes before. You are alive, no?

And he will make mistakes again. You'll eventually have children won't you?

I certainly hope not.
