These are the only players that were eligible for the young player award:

    Fabrice Olinga
    Ante Rebic
    Mateo Kovacic
    Oliver Zelenika
    Adam Taggart
    Memphis Depay
    Terence Kongolo
    Juan Quintero
    Eder Balanta
    Stefano Kapino
    Sayouba Mande
    Luke Shaw
    Raheem Sterling
    Ross Barkley
    Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
    Jose Maria Gimenez
    Carlos Gruezo
    Renato Ibarra
    Lucas Gine
    Raphael Varane
    Paul Pogba
    Luis Lopez
    Andy Najar
    Sead Kolasinac
    Alireza Jahanbakhsh
    Kenneth Omeruo
    Matthias Ginter
    Julian Draxler
    Rafa Silva
    Julian Green
    DeAndre Yedlin
    John Brooks
    Nabil Bentaleb
    Divock Origi
    Adnan Januzaj
    Romelu Lukaku

    EDIT

There are a couple of names I would have liked to have seen on the list (Najar, Yedlin, Draxler), but none of those guys played enough. A lot of the guys got limited amounts of playing time, or didn't play at all (sorry, didn't look up everyone's playing time and contributions). I guess the best option would have been Origi, but when it came down to the knockouts, his team won when he was taken off, and I don't recall him doing much in the game against Argentina.

Origi was good in the group stages and Lukaku played well as a substitute against the US.

As you said, the age limit is ridiculously strict, none of he nominees dug up any trees with their perfomances, they are just there because they played multiple games for noteworthy teams. The fact that the two Belgian strikers are the best alternatives says it all.

I think the Young Player award in England is a bit too lenient (up to 23 right? but you play every year), while the World Cup one is too strict. Think it should be 23 and under, unless you've already appeared in a World Cup game (suppose going and not playing shouldn't exclude you from the next one). Think then you'd get a better idea of the the best younger players.

Can't send off a Brazilian after 2 minutes after a 7-1 loss... right?

Think Brazil got off lightly there.  Probably wasn't a penalty but it was a definite red.

So close to a billion dollars have been garnered this WC... and where does this money go to? To greedy oligarchs and overpaid athletes... this truly is a farce.

Is their work in generating the revenue any more important than that of the laborers that built the stadiums, or anyone else for that matter?

Same as I said before it was announced. He's a good player, but I don't want him at Barcelona. He's got too much baggage and I don't like him as a person. I would have preferred our other targets like Aguero or Higuain. We also really need to sign a center back.

its funny because in last year the team was not so bad, completely vanished spain (maybe they were so good any more since last year)

    high pressuring marking
very good position in midfield and defense
    fast ball transitions
fred on form (scored 2 gols in this match and 5 in competition)

this year was completely the opposite  Rolling Eyes

I agree.  That selfish old cunt tried to fuck us over to look after his mate and then when that blew up in his stupid face tried to build an old boys network to get Giggs in.  He should have been fired for recommending that ginger cunt.

Good result, but not in the same category as battering the world champions and the hosts.
