Did you see when he intercepted Benzema and Matuidi's one-two from an offside position? He only had ten minutes and he still managed to leave his mark on the game.

I think you're being a wee bit harsh.  He was unlucky when he launched the ball out of bounds, the chest trap that gave the ball to the German midfield was brave, and he also chased down Neuer's time-wasting from an offside position at least twice.

Stewart Robson was desperate for Giroud to come on, and after he came on, Robson complained about how bad he'd been.

World class performance, that's exactly why he's still going to be our starting striker next season.

Every commentator on ESPN is the same. Team is down by one, no matter who the losing team's current striker is, the co-commentator says, "bring on the big striker and get some crosses in."  I can remember demands for Ameobi, Rickie Lambert, Altidore, and now Giroud.
