Timothy Howard abandoning his near post for the crucial second goal. Very poor performance from the big man.

We don't know how to react to the score. When it's 0-0 we sit back, when we're up we sit back even more, we only play when we're down. Didnt deserve to win... Howard is amazing, Green nice shot...

Besler didn't do his homework on Lukaku either. Shouldn't have tried to body him off the ball on the first goal.

I'm going to 2018. The homies, Green, Trapp, Yedlin, Gil, Bradley as el capitan. Bright future. I love us.

You'll probably have a few more German ringers as well.dena wrote:I'm going to 2018. The homies, Green, Trapp, Yedlin, Gil, Bradley as el capitan. Bright future. I love us.

But I thought the USA were amazing, I mean they've qualified for 7 consecutive World Cups

You're probably the only one who thinks that the US is amazing at soccer.

The MLS is a breeding ground. Of course the US national team is amazing.

MLS isn't amazing, so why'd you assume that the national team is?

Re: World Cup 2014 discussion thread.
The MLS was the 8th most attended soccer league in the world in 2012-2013, of course it's amazing. And like I said, it's been a breeding ground for a team that's made the last 7 World Cup finals so it seems to be doing the trick.

I don't know of any other retirement homes sending teams to the World Cup, so you're right.

Re: World Cup 2014 discussion thread.
I reckon he's bang on. No neutral will ever forget their set-piece inspired smash-and-grab against Ghana, the way they drew with a Portuguese team playing without a left back, the time they almost didn't lose to Germany, and the way that they were dominated by a team of pretenders.
This is the new United States, and we should be scared.

Surely then that's on Jurgie and his $2.5m contract? We went out the same exact way in 2010 with Bradley in charge and everyone was bummed out.
