Wisla Krakow did it for the Barca game two years back, AEK Athens did it against some Swiss team before their match with an Italian side, Manchester United did it multiple times in the past few seasons. And these examples are just in continental competitions, it's done so often in Cups and League games as well.

And it isn't breaking any rules at all.

Nothing will be done about this, and nothing should be done about this. This is almost as pathetic as people saying Uruguay should be disqualified/Suarez banned for 3 matches for his handball and penalty that was missed.

I don't see why everyone is licking Mourinho's ass about this. It's not the first time a manger or player did this to avoid a suspension for a specific game.

It's just part of the rules and you move on. I don't think the rules need to be changed for a deliberate red card.

I remember watching a game long ago when a player tried to get a yellow card in a match so he can do the same thing. But the referee knew what he was up to so he didn't give him a yellow card. But the player kept on delaying the match for a minute and the referee just gave up and booked him.

Players try to get suspended so they can go on holiday.
