CONCACAF HEXAGONAL MATCH DAY 1 (US-Hon C.R.-Pan & Jam-Mex)
Guest- Guest
Mexico is playing that ain't qualifying brand of football. I'm spooning my eyes out if we don't bring on Marquito or put Gio in the middle next half.

Replay of Chicarito's chance shown. Didn't know it was a replay. Had mini heart attack again.

Well this makes me feel better about our loss, but not really.

I expected a beating, but I'm now disappointed by the point. How to feel.

Chepo usually gets it right but he got it wrong this time. Not being able to beat Denmark's u-21 side using the same line up should have been a clue. Simply changing up the pawns a little wasn't going to work.

Well, since no one else has said anything, Panama drew Costa Rica 2-2. Good point for Panama. Great night for United States after losing early.
TABLE AFTER MATCH DAY ONE:
1: Honduras 1-0-0
2: Costa Rica 0-1-0
3: Panama 0-1-0
4: Mexico 0-1-0
5: Jamaica 0-1-0
6: United States 0-0-1
Yanks propping up table.

Time for superduper prototyping.
v. CR - W
@ Mex - L
@ JAM - W/T
v. PAN - W
v. HON W
@ CR L/T
v. MEX T/W
v. JAM W

If a result is first followed by a / and another result, I think the result before is most likely. I have us getting a max of 19 points (lol) and a min of 16. Good enough to get in the playoff of 2010.

Man, all the other sides in CONCACAF have gotten so much tougher in the last few years.

Turns out to not be such a horrible night. The Mexico-Jamaica result wasn't so good for us. I assume Mexico is going to top the table, or at least qualify easily. So Jamaica grabbing a point from them is good for Jamaica and what's good for Jamaica can't be good for us. Panama and Costa Rica tying is good though.

What's wrong with it? Mexico is the best team in the hex. I assume that if we are going to be in a fight for third, there's a better chance it will involve Jamaica than Mexico. So more points for Jamaica, especially from fixtures they would be expected to lose (e.g.@ Mexico), that can't be good for us.dena wrote:menalawyerguy wrote:Turns out to not be such a horrible night. Nothing is wrong with it, I know it makes sense, just saying Mexico not getting a win put me in a good (better-ish) mood, then your logic ruined it.

That's true. If I were more confident about our qualification prospects, I'd be smoking a fat Jamaican spliff right now.

Interestingly, the commentators mentioned that this team was different to the team of old. They belived the wasn't as brutish as it once was and that they weren't commiting silly fouls or making infantile mistakes.
The training of the English born players might of played a part in that.

Don't quite get that? But the team like even 15 years ago literally was the English national team

Yeah man, the region is just getting better as a whole, stick think Mexico/USA will dominate based off population, infrastructure, money, etc. But these past two cycles have been tough. Grant Wahl thought all three MOTM from the first round were MLS players, (Bengston, Saborio, and Ricketts) not sure if they were the official MOTM or just his opinion, but they all played well.

Donovan will not be on the team for the Costa Rica and Mexico games.
What an ass.
