We're not talking about a mere foul; we're talking about a straight red.

Suarez could only reach the ball with his hand in the world cup, does that mean he's obliged to let it fall into the net? Yes.

Correct, but Nani had no idea that there was another player that close to the play. So why should he have felt obliged to let it fall? I take it then that you do in fact agree that a player should never play a ball that is above his waist with his feet because a player might come from his blind spot and run into his foot.
That's his fault then, does he expect to have 20 yards to himself in a game like that?

No...but 10? Maybe, yea. Regardless, it wasn't unnecessary use of force. It was negligent at best.

I don't think it's a red personally, yellow would have been enough but it's hardly a great injustice.

It's a pretty great injustice when you consider what it cost them. They're out of Europe because of that call.

Agreed my friend, clearly the people that believe Nani's red card was deserved must also agree that this should have been a red card also. Extremely reckless. Does not matter if it is intentional or not, it's a foul and a red card.

I am also surprised that people have dismissed and rarely discussed how varane should have been sent off in the first leg for a last man foul on Patrice Evra. Quite clearly an extraordinary injustice has occurred to Manchester united over the two legs.

Liam, a reckless challenge is a yellow card offence, not a red one, neither Lopez or Nani should have been sent off.

We can't complain about Varane's too much, he practically set up our goal. shifty

And van Persie clearly isn't fit at the moment. Needs a rest, start Rooney and Hernandez on Sunday.

If one is a red then the other is. Both didn't even deserve a yellow.

Another one is early in the match Arbeloa mis controlled the ball and caught Evra pretty high, If Nanis was a red Arbeloa should of been off early on any way.

People also miss the blatant penalty United should of had when Ramos threw one of our players to the ground.

    But its over now.

Time to move on to the FA Cup against Chelsea.
Should be a pretty routine win really they way Chelseas are playing.

Well he obviously got injured at QPR..

Even before that, doesn't look as sharp. A hell of a lot of playing time without a rest just maybe is catching up with him. Played just about every single Arsenal game last season, Euro 2012, virtually no pre-season, pretty much straight into the United team.

If Van Persie wasn't 100 percent fit than that's on Ferguson. Van Persie is already of questionable constitution, if he's really been playing him injured when there are other attacking options it's kinda foolish.
