Re: January Transfer Thread
Pato being strongly linked with moves back to brazil, havent heard anything about robinho wanting to leave but id imagine he'd go back to santos or wherever offers the most money.

Yeah, he's is Brazil now trying to get deals done for them.
Pato is expected to go to Corinthians (bastards), while Robinho technically should be coming to Santos but a lot of clubs are interested in him. Milan want 27 million Reias for him (about 14 million Euros I think). Santos doesn't exactly have that money lying around. He also wants 1 million Reais a month but Santos are currently offering him 800. I don't know if I could climb out of the pit of despair I would fall into if he went to another club.
Santos are also interested in Nene who wants to leave PSG. Don't have enough money for him either. It's hard being broke.

Wow, Pato has really fallen from the limelight. Sturridge to Liverpool is pretty much sealed.

Would seem that Sturridge had his medical today.

Not gonna happen for a while (unfortunately ). The smart thing would be to just go after Nene to be honest. The squad needs strengthening elsewhere.

Yeah Sturridge had his medical, that one is all but confirmed.
Tom Ince to Liverpool seems likely.

City will probably get a % of the Sturridge fee, get in, we need the money.

Scott Sinclair's career has gone down the pan, message to all young English players to avoid Man City like the plague.

He's getting paid shit loads, has a semi-famous girlfriend, lives in a reasonably big city, and he seems like a twat. Don't think he'll care that

What does it have to do with him being English/young? Both young and English players still feature in the current City team.

Well no, I'm sure any footballer would like to be playing, no matter how much they're getting paid

He's only been there a few months, he'll get games eventually. Besides, what was he expecting?

Well, two examples of Adam Johnson and Scott Sinclair (I can't think of anyone else, Lescott to an extent maybe?) went to City, when their careers were going up, and then hardly ever got a game..
If I was an English/Young player, I wouldn't go to City cos you're likely to just spend 20 million on a player straight away

I guess it's hard to understand why I might think he might dislike playing only 3 games this season

Again, i'm sure when he signed he knew he wouldn't be a starter and he'd have to wait to play games.

Re: January Transfer Thread
Lescott was good for City but now they just have a better footballer at CB who suits City more, he won the league and if he didn't make that move he'd never have a PL medal in his life.
And btw Lescott has like 100 appearances for City, 33 out of 38 in a title winning season.

Sinclair not playing has nothing to do with spending 20 million on a better player. It's because he's a winger and City don't play with wingers really. Mancini likes to have the option to add width when behind or he feels a team can be got at there, but it's very rare that the starting strategy involves width. Adam Johnson got a pretty decent amount of games considering that, but then he probably forced it by being playing well too. He played in 43 and 38 games in his two full seasons. Scott Sinclair isn't as good I feel, but I'm sure he will work at it.
If a player is good enough, they will play. Are you suggesting that players should be picked for non-footballing reasons like nationality? Yes that is a legitimate argument, but personally I think it's ridiculous. I would always swap helping the English national team get better with having a good City team now.
As for age, a 19 year old has just replaced Lescott. Clearly that shows that if a player can perform at a young age, they will be given the chance to develop.

Re: January Transfer Thread
So in short I hope Scott Sinclair never plays for City because he's a shitehawk and doesn't fit the system.
At least Jack Rodwell is a shitehawk that does fit the system.

Re: January Transfer Thread
Bit of a weird signing Sinclair, it's like he was bought to bring something different but you can't just bring a winger on and expect him to be effective when your attacking play is so fucking narrow, surely Mancini would have got that from the Johnson situation..Zzonked wrote:So in short I hope Scott Sinclair never plays for City because he's a shitehawk and doesn't fit the system.

Think he just likes the having the option of width. Tbh I think wingers should avoid City if they want to have a good career and avoid arse splinters.

Ha you fell right into my trap! Jack Rodwell played nearly every game he was fit for before getting a hamstring injury for the past 2 months. Ha bet you feel all trapped now!
