Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
If by last time you mean at Anfield, that's probably because we're always shit at Anfield and we gave him nothing in that match, only reason we won is because of the sending off and even then.. bleh

Neither of us have really comprehensively outplayed and outscored the other for a while.
I'd be more optimistic if Suarez started central with two rather fast black men either side of him to give the United defence the runaround, but by the sounds of it that isn't how BR wants to line up which is a shame.
I should probably bet on United or something, that way Liverpool will have it in the bag by half time.

I don't see how we can miss a team with Jamie Carragher spearheading the defense.

Because he used to be good? He didn't play this level his whole career to make 700 appearances or whatever ridiculous number it is. Benitez' 08/09 team was ze bestGlen Damon wrote:I don't see how we can miss a team with Jamie Carragher spearheading the defense.

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
I am aware that he was better back then, but even still, he was a footballing burden to the side. He was not dominant aerially, he was not athletic, he had awful positioning, and he constantly got bullied by mediocre strikers. The only things he had going for him were his disguising of fouls and the ability to kick the ball far. I do not consider his tackling from behind a positive trait, that was a mere indicator of how often he was caught out of position.Dagbon wrote:Because he used to be good? I would rather have deployed Arbeloa at CB in the 2009 season during Skrtel's absence than Carragher.

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
Stoke City is only superior in the luck department, my friend. While Kenneth Dalglish was sending us spiraling towards Stoke's depths with his insistence on playing Jonathan Flanagan, Jay Spearing, and Andrew Carool, Rodgers has caught us mid-flight and has made us into a superior team in all aspects. I would not take a single player from Stoke City's starting XI into our first team squad.Dagbon wrote:Mf, I admire Stoke city, but I'm not going to glory hunt and jump on to support the superior team.Glen Damon wrote:Why don't you support Stoke City, then?

Absolutely shocked by his progress this season. I thought he'd be good for the future, never expected him to be as comfortable at this level as he is.

To be honest I don't think he's exactly been spectacular, made a lot of mistakes in defence and needs to work on his attacking. He has made good progress though. When is Kelly back?
