I couldn't tell if Brad Pitt was trying to do an English accent or not and it hurt my brain trying to figure it out. Looks good though.

It's absolutely nothing like the book. Or any Zombie media for that fact. At least the fast infected (Zombies if you will) in 28 days later were realistic, whereas in WWZ they seem to be Matrix zombies.
Max Brooks has completely sold out.

I don't understand why they'd buy the rights for WWZ then make a film that looks like it's not even related to the book.

The original story for the movie -which Max Brooks loved- was leaked, the leak had slow Zombies and correlated with the book in many ways. The producer decided it would be a good idea to overhaul the entire movie instead of maybe a location change/dialogue change.
Now we're stuck with this pile of wank, anybody who hasn't read the book wont understand why the core fanbase is so pissed off.
