I found the danish refs i bit odd for probably the most supported team around these parts lately (for 4 obvious reasons during the match) and they were doing well right about till they decided that the dirty city players didn't deserve shit so they didn't get any, its not the right way to do it but i think the result was justified. Nasty stuff from some of the city players, unlikely that it will be penalized, possibly Mancini and Balotelli's "attack" on the refs in the end. Was an elbow directly in the throat from Dzeko at one point and Schøne getting kicked in the back of the head while he was down by Toure, with a number of smaller incidents, the city players using their physical presence more than their footballing ability.
Only thing i can really get away from this match is that Fifa 13 is right, Real Madrid needs to buy Aguero cause he deserves a better team, this is just a bunch of players with the same shirts, not a team.

Just haven't performed in Europe really. Been a bit unfortunate at times too though (this year and last), holding in Real Madrid would have been massive, given an extra 2 points here from correct refereeing it could have been a different story (although still maybe not). Not to mention that we've been in the hardest group 2 years in a row. Europa was a let down last year though, should have done a lot better there. As for tonight, think we were the better team, but conceding from 2 set pieces is going to make any game difficult.
Got a lot of criticism though, yes we've spent money but it's only our 2nd year in this competition. Look at Arsenal, they've had fantastic teams over the years and haven't managed to win one despite being in it nearly every year I can remember. It's a tough competition.

True, no doubt they've done better in Europe than us. Just hope we get some real pushovers in next years draw.

Fair to City they have been screwed by draws worse than Ajax has since we got back to the tournament (Real Madrid 3 for 3)
But its so strange to see City not being able to play properly at all, it turned into some kind of Stoke hoofball for a good 70 minutes from them. The simplest way to setup the match for Ajax is prepare like you would for Swanselona.

There was a good amount of hoofball in the second half yeah. I actually thought at one point maybe it's a viable strategy. Buy the best forwards in the world, then just hoof the ball at them and hope they do something special.
