What the hell is going on in England with this racist shit, used to think that Spain and Italy were the biggest culprits but this fan thing is the fourth event I can think of in the last year, all involving the biggest clubs in the country.

There are some unbelievably backwards people in this country.
Including this guy:
Chelsea Rumours @ChelseaRumours
It must suck to be an actual monkey. Being talked about as if it was the worst thing in the world. I’m NOT saying the gestures are okay.
Chelsea Rumours @ChelseaRumours
But poor actual monkeys.

This is just getting ridiculous, I would love to read a headline not about racism, there is bad offensive shit that happens in every game in every country. But only in England are they constantly watching every fan from the moment they get out of bed walk to the stadium and leave. I am not pro racism it should be stopped. I just always get a kick out of seeing the fans get in trouble because of how strict your semi socialist country is

I don't think it's cool or funny either, but how is that not free speech?
I know you don't have the 1st amendment per se, but don't you guys protect free speech? I think Gareth Bale looks more like a a monkey than tons of black players.
On topic, this beIN network shit is cutting my number of games down and im not happy about it.

Discriminatory/Hate speech is not free speech, and it outlined as so in many countries, how can you not realize that.

Interesting performance from Chelsea, yesterday’s win obviously being needed on the bounce of two past defeats. We cannot forget the transition period the home side are encountering, already the character shown by several young players are sublime which certainly gives fantastic confidence for the future. The average age for Manchester United was 24, greater than Chelsea’s 23 thus disproving Ferguson’s ‘young team’ excuse. I believe it would have been more fitting for Alex to admit, rightfully so, that the opposition were on a completely different level in terms of quality.
Defensively we are very poor at the moment. The individual mistakes need eradicating immediately. I can understand we will leak more than previously playing more offensively, but we can’t keep giving ourselves a mountain to climb.
The introduction of Ramires, Oscar and Hazard really gave us the initiative. Hazard was exceptional and the emotion he showed for the penalty he scored was nice to see. He's usually as cool as they come, but it shows his hunger and desire to win. Oscar as well came on deeper and controlled the game. He could definitely play a deeper role if we decide to go down that direction. Mugging Nani off was hilarious.
I’m still not sure what I make out of Sturridge – sometimes he looks the part, and others he is infuriatingly frustrating. On one part his single-mindedness could hinder others around him compared to Torres say, who is much more unselfish in his play. However, Daniel having missed a couple never hid and his explosiveness and awareness got him his goal - I don't think Fernando would have been there to anticipate such a mistake.
Despite two penalties, we should have had a blatant third – In my opinion, United were fortunate to not have seen three of their players sent off, the three being the two young centre-halves and Giggs. Ryan’s tackle on Moses at the end was disgraceful, a tackle itself worth a straight red. Anyhow, the dominant side progresses with Leeds on their agenda next.

Calling somebody or saying they look like a monkey is protected speech. That's an opinion.

And my original intent was to find out if there's a bottom line in England. The man that did this gesture will presumably be charged criminally then, but if he was on the streets of Birmingham and he made the gesture can he be charged criminally?
I believe you're American. If you went to an NFL game and made that same gesture at Calvin Johnson or any other black NFL player, you cannot be charged criminally.

The difference is that in the US if you did that, you'd probably have a 6'4 300 pound Black man smashing your face in. The law believes that's punishment enough.

Haha yeah good point. But I was speaking in terms of potential criminal charges

You can be charged anywhere, you're more likely to get fucked by Jamaicans on the street of Birmingham anyway

He could be scratching his armpits. I scratch mine like that sometimes at the football, especially in winter when it's freezing and you've got loads of layers on an you can feel a little sweat on so you give yourself a lil scratch for reassurance
