FIFA 13

Started one with Blackburn and simmed the first season winning the league by 17 points. Brung in Kara and Al Shiribi then in January Martin Olsson went to Everton after he handed in a transfer request so replaced him with Parr. My team atm :

Finished 9th in my 1st season. Sold Gardner for 8.5m to Madrid. Brought in Danilo, Caulker and Gardner aswell as loaning in Robinson, Fischer (£5m buyout), Piazon (£3m buyout).

Team is now:

By being a beast. I finished 2nd in the PL last season

In career mode I am 7th in perm with Leeds.

Spurs plummeted from 6th to 11th and I was confused as to why, now I know.

Much better IMO.

I think I've played about a maximum 50 games on FIFA13 then my FIFA broke and didn't bother getting a new one then my XBL ran out and didn't bother updating it..

Do I or don't I update XBL and get a new FIFA?

Mid way through my third season at Blackburn and am 7th in the league and just beat Derby 5 - 1 in the F.A Cup. Want to qualify for the Europa this year and hope I get a decent budget in the summer.

I have a thing about signing players without player portraits. I usually avoid them but I needed a young centerback so bought Chris Smalling jr.

same, I always avoid players without a face on the menus. And I also avoid ugly players, no idea why

Well, not signing ugly players is just plain weird.

The best players are all ugly.

So after winning 3 of my first 4 games with Nimes after gaining promotion I was doing well.

I then proceeded to lose four straight games. We were hurting and fell down to 14th. I drew 0-0 with Bordeaux when I desperately needed a point. I then crushed a 90th min pen to beat 5th placed Lorient 3-2 after being up 2-0 inside 30 minutes and seeing them tie it. Then I crushed Evian 4-1, they're crap.

This is all with my main striker Kone out. Then my backup Niflore gets hurt. So I put my first signing up top and he didnt flourish there until a couple games in and hes doing well now, so Im going to let him keep the striker spot even tho I had him out wide in a 4231 before. The last few games more players have been adding goals. It's hard to score with this team, anytime anybody gets near the box they have an elephant touch.

Edit: Next up is Rennes, and as I'm in good form right now I'm going for 3 straight dubs Im gonna play it. Then I have Coupe de Ligue against Etienne which will be rough.

Figure if I finish anywhere from 8-15 I can get a better job offer.

Just finished 2014/15 season with Sunderland coming second. Won the Euro league too which was great, beat united in the final.

Sold Johnson to Real Madrid for £27m and am now stuck as to who out of Lamela and Shaqiri I should buy. I have a 10.5m bid accepted for 81 rated Lamela and a 13m bid accepted for 83 rated Shaqiri. Don't really want both :p

Anyone played with both? Which would be best for a RW that would cut in alot.

Last 10 minutes when you are leading is just nuts this year.

Yeah they go into god mode. Had trouble on my current game this season with it. Lost so many points because of it.

I give up a lot of 90 minute goals. If I don't get at least a 2 goal lead I know there's a pretty good chance I'm going to concede.

In the last 10 minutes when they're down they always go on those runs where they complete like 50 perfectly weighted one touch passes in a row.

This is true for like 2.5 star teams as well. Players with like 60 ball control turn into Ibrahimovic.

Got a bid of 11m for Capoue so countered with 16m and had it accepted. Used the money to buy Javi Martinez for 10m. Also decided to go all out for a top class winger to go ahead of Deulofeu and decided to get El Shaawary for 20m + 30 year old Larsson.

Decided to screw around a bit with formations.



High pressure, team pressing, offside trap, and all midfielders and forwards on high defense. The inspiration was Sacchi's AC Milan. General idea is to reduce the space b/w the lines and the effective playing area of the pitch.

Works like a charm most of the time. Won the Premier Cup using it. When it doesn't work though, it fails terribly. One guy just kept playing through balls to Benzema and Ronaldo and hammered me. The big problem was the fact that a player can't be offside in his own half. (Stupid rule.) Smarter AI could overcome this but it is FIFA after all. A real keeper would stand on the edge of the box for example.

Would be cool if XI guys could get together on clubs to pull this off.

Takes some getting used to, but it's beautiful once you get the hang of it. Once spent a whole game laughing at a guy struggling to pass the ball out of his own half.

Something I didn't include is the need for fast CB's. If the offside trap fails then some quick sprinting is required.

Posts like these are why you're one of the best people on this forum. Honestly whenever I play I just make a formation for the team that best suits each individual player. so If I have an attacking fullback, I'll make his position more advanced with more emphasis on attacking than defending and put the midfield to cover the hole defensively.
