I don't think it was because Shorey just stood there like a lemon, if he got up too then yeah it would have been.Zzonked wrote:Might have been a foul for the goal, don't really care though.

That was the point of Javi Garcia I think.
I just meant someone who can play when Silva is either injured, rested, or not playing well. I think at the moment we're too dependent on him.

Fair enough. I do think players who actually go for the ball shouldn't be punished when the other player makes no attempt.

Re: Premier League thread
Javi Garcia does not come across as someone who dictates and creates play though. Mancini should just play a back 3 regularly, he'd have threatening width in that case, Silva up the pitch still, Toure able to drive from deep and still have his 2 strikers that he likes. Add someone similar to Alonso and that is many different ways to attack.

Could be wrong but i'm sure they played shit when they played a back 3.

Deep lying playmakers are at a premium these days. Is Hernanes still good?

Read the other day he's been very good for them this season. Don't think he's a deep lying playmaker though?

Just put Jacky Rodwell there, he is always willing to get stuck in.

Michael Carrick would work wonders next to Yaya, seriously.

I'm sure for a big enough offer DDR might go to City. Or maybe maybe Strootman although i've only seen him a couple times so don't actually know how good he is. Or if Sahin picks up form maybe him next season.

My dad said City might be interested in Paulinho, but not sure how accurate that is. Don't know what sort of player he is either.

Think Corinthians said he's not moving anytime soon, he's a box to box player I think but Rei is probably more useful.

You're right. He's basically a Brazilian Lampard. Scores quite a few goals.
Since names of deep-lying playmakers are being thrown out, Banega and Clasie are also options.

So? That is for plenty of reasons, no natural right mid/right wing back, no one creating from deep, ridiculous players like Balotelli being played, centre backs that aren't used to/good for the system.
Teams play 3 at the back succesfully.

Cabaye/Benat/Moutinho/Pizarro (they had last season but rarely used him for some reason) Modric and Verratti (who is supposed to be good, not seen him) both moved clubs in the summer and could have easily gone to Man City. You are right there isn't many, but I think it is possible to do what Spurs did with Modric and move players further back.

Have new found confidence for west brom. We were really under it today without our 2 most important players against a highly in form team, yet we still managed to get the end result we wanted, Europa league hunt is still on . And Popov has finally come into his own and seems a rock at LB there. He has 2 motms out of the last 2 games

What happened to van Persie today? I didn't see the game but I heard he tried picking a fight with someone, slipped over and then got beat up for attempting to start fights.

He got kicked in the face with the ball (probably by accident) and he got really angry and started trying to fight Ashley Williams

Everyone should kick the ball at the head of divers, Williams is setting a good example.
