Re: Premier League thread
0-0 Spurs-Stoke at full time...
Pretty awful refereeing, a basically mirror image of the penalty at Arsenal in the last 10 minutes against Bale but there was no call. Pulis would have flipped shit if it was called . Pretty shit inconsistent refereeing too, and it looks like Nzonzi is fitting in nicely at Stoke. A cheeky elbow to Dembele's mouth, a horrible slide tackle on Sandro, and I think I counted at least 2, maybe 3 more fouls.

I was cutting myself at the Saints commentary.

Re: Premier League thread
Just watched City's goal again, Nicky Shorey just stood there and done nothing, if he jumped he could have headed it away or Barry couldn't get to the ball without smashing into him and it being a foul, genius play from the fullback.

Re: Premier League thread
Wasn't just the foul calls though. There were at least 3 times the ref was about 4 feet away from the ball when it went out and he called it the wrong way. One time Walters just basically kicked the ball out along the ground with no one near him and he gave it to Stoke.19Jones19v wrote:I hope you aint surprised, that's Stoke.
Siggy needs to start getting starts, and AvB has to go back to 4-2-3-1. Defoe and Adebayor just aren't working together, they did almost nothing all game. Sig came on with 10 minutes left and did more than both of them combined.

It's really great I think. I just hope we get some sort of europe. Goodison was amazing during our Europa league games.

Yeah, but with the way Pulis is always complaining about things not going his way he'll see this as things weighing up. I haven't watched all your games, but it seemed that 4-4-2 formation only worked against us, has it worked in any other game?Jorlung wrote:Wasn't just the foul calls though. It will be extremely tight, West Brom's the only team I can see falling off. It will be a fight between Spurs and you lot come near the end of the season. Really depends on how far us and Spurs do in Europe.Bushido wrote:19Jones19v wrote: 4 teams on 30 points.

It'd be nice if Chelsea finished 5th, you 3rd and us 4th.

Re: Premier League thread
I know, but they're definitely signing a striker in January and probably another holding midfielder. That would be a successful campaign if it finished like that for both of us.Bushido wrote:19Jones19v wrote:It will be extremely tight, West Brom's the only team I can see falling off. Re: Premier League thread
We haven't really played it all that much, but when we do it doesn't really work all that well. Think we used it vs. Swansea, but I missed that game, but we only managed to score late off a set piece. We used it against Maribor in the Europa League and it worked, but obviously that's not a good game to base it off of. We used 4-2-3-1 against Everton, and to be fair we lost that game, but we also didn't have Bale. Before that we used 4-2-3-1 against Fulham and won 3-0.19Jones19v wrote:Yeah, but with the way Pulis is always complaining about things not going his way he'll see this as things weighing up. I just think when we play 4-4-2 Bale is forced to sit too far wide because Adebayor is in the middle in front of him, and Dembele is essentially right beside him. When he does drift inside it makes things awkward, both strikers seem to not know where to position themselves. I think when we play 4-2-3-1 it creates enough of a gap so he can drift in and influence the game more. Not just that, it gives us more of a cutting edge in the midfield, with either Sig or Dempsey playing off the striker to play balls through to the wingers.

Yeah we were obviously better as the possession shows, but still pretty shit. It's one of those things where people might say 'Reading deserved a draw' because they are always complete shit and managed to hang on that long, but they weren't really worth a draw.
Main problem was creativity I think, Silva and Yaya Toure didn't play well at all. Really expected a 0-0 from about 65 minutes onwards with how they played. Think if anyone gets signed in January maybe a creative passer would be good, because other than Silva there's no one else (Nasri not really a passer).
Might have been a foul for the goal, don't really care though.

Re: Premier League thread
You need someone who can create from deep. Silva needs to be further up the pitch.
