Should the summer transfer window close before major European leagues open? Every year there are a few players who cause a bit of a stir because they refuse to play (or are left out by their managers) for the first few games of the season so they can be transferred to a different club, yet it works for neither side, the player doesn't play, the team he's currently on isn't getting any value from the player or the cash they could obtain by selling him on, and the club that wants to buy said player is simply waiting in the wings. I know some leagues open up in very early (late July/early August), but I think closing the window on the Friday before the Premier League starts (I believe it's the earliest start date for 'major' European leagues) is a good way to avoid this conflict, clubs will eventually adjust and handle their transfers more quickly as well. What do you guys think?

Yes, it is good to be able to replace early injured players.

Its fine, sometimes you need to see your team play competitive football before deciding on areas you need to strengthen.

Martinez was talking about this earlier, saying that it is disrespectful to fans.

Re: The Transfer Window
I prefer it the way it is. It gives you the chance to see your team play a competitive match to see were you need to make the final changes to your squad be it buying or selling a player.
It's a comfort for me knowing that having played 2 games of the season we can sign a player who can fill a position, or has attributes that the team are missing which could be the key to our success for the season. The need for that player may not have been spotted during pre-season when playing against local teams who aren't even semi-pro.

no because 1 it helps to see your team's weaknesses and it also adds drama

So you're not okay with it because it helps?

Re: The Transfer Window
It's fine the way it is, if the window hadn't been open last year after the 8-2 we definitely wouldn't have finished top 4, not just because of the players Wenger brought in (Arteta was key though) but also because of the message it sent to everyone.

Well they are similar, if you are OK with it as is then most likely you believe that it shouldnt change. If not it's the opposite, they are worded differently but the same point applies.
