Re: Liga MX: Apertura 2012
Missed it unfortunately. Ascenco teams are taking this shit seriously. When the competition gets to the late stages, I get the feeling that the first division teams will probably start putting a full team, and it will give Ascenso teams little to no chance of winning.

Many old, old timers consider him the best Mexican player of all time.

Smh. Up 3-0 and lost 4-3. No wonder half of those players don't play in the first team. Defense was terrible.

Morons of the night: Chepo, Maza, Lugo, Barrera, Elias, Nilo.
I knew Chepo would cost us the first loss against the U.S at the Azteca with his shitty tactics.

Elias put in 2 or 3 good crosses so I wouldn't group him with the rest of those players. Also Reyna didn't really participate in the plays as much as he needed to.

Oh yeah thats true, he showed barrera how to cross lol,.
I think Reyna wasnt too involved because he was playing in the center. instead of subbing in Elias, Chepo should have put Reyna on the right and subbed a more traditional center midfielder or simply sub in DeNegris.
Chicharito missed one clear one but i wouldn't blame him, we only had 2 shots on goal with all that possession.

Cruz Azul vs Pachuca, in theory should be a great match but ya never know.
Hope Cruz Azul win.

What should be the best match of the week is about to begin.
http://www.thefirstrow.eu/watch/140916/1/watch-club-america-vs-santos-laguna.html
Hopefully, Peralta scores a brace and just to round it off nicely Chucho misses another penalty.

Cruz Azul and America knocked out of the Copa in the group stages.
America foreshadowing the result by having Piojo make a statement about playing the first team for the rest of the cup.

Ehh i really don't care at all about the cup tournament. There's no prize or nor does the winner get to qualify for the other tournaments.

Not surprising the "big teams" are becoming mediocre teams with mediocre attitudes like that one.

Re: Liga MX: Apertura 2012
It's not like it isn't true. The cup is crap, same with the format. They play too many games, then again more games=$. Teams barely take the ccl seriously, why would they take this cup seriously.

Re: Liga MX: Apertura 2012
4 matches played, 0 goals, 3 yellows and a red card.
He's been criticized a bit because some people feel he is more interested in his hair than on actually playing football.
His team(Tijuana) is top of the table doe.
Actually come to think of it, I think he scored a goal in the Copa MX. But if we go by what some people in this thread say, that cup doesn't count.

Saw that one on youtube earlier. Pretty good finish.
Didn't he move there in the middle of the year though? Did he play any of the Apertura/Clasura (not sure which one is going on now)?

Re: Liga MX: Apertura 2012
We're in the Apertura(?)
But yeah, he only joined this Apertura.
He hasn't had a great start but a lot of foreign players coming into the leauge go through a ruff first year, 2nd year is when you usually start seeing if they are going to turn out to be good or not.
I think even Jackson Martinez only scored 2 goals his first season, and that foo' is at Porto now. I remember when Darwin Quintero was a shithouse too.
I think it's the high altitude thing. Ivan Alonso who came into the leauge guns a blazing had to retire 'cause they discovered he had a heart condition and playing in high altitude would have probably killed him.

This was a great match.
Orozco's first atajada(the one he got caught off his line) was incredible.

Re: Liga MX: Apertura 2012
What should be two good matches on tonight.
America Morelia and Puchuca Chivas.
Will America finally be able to defeat their Television station rival? Will Puchuca be able to show why they've named themselves "Mexico's team" by defeating the most Mexican team in the leauge?
Find out at 3 and 5 tonight!
/ dramatic voice over guy.

I don't want to say this in case it bights me in the ass but no Chucho = no America winning today.
Link to match in case someone actually reads this thread and wants to watch it.
Edit: oops. Here's the link, not sure why I posted that.

Re: Liga MX: Apertura 2012
Today was the team's chance to prove they don't rely on him and they failed. Our attack was pretty slow and barely effective. this game put me to sleep. definitely should have won this game. Layun started
Chivas lose on a controversial call. Did it cross the line? i would need a better angle to judge it, that's just me.

Re: Liga MX: Apertura 2012
Didn't cross in my opinion. We don't even play too bad anymore, we actually play pretty well actually, we just don't win. Think Pachuca's penalty was soft though.
To be fair it's hard to win when the players who are supposedly your best players(Marquez, Lucho, Marco, and Arellano) are all sitting in the stands.
We had a strike partnership of Cubo and Gringo Padilla.(missed a sitter too)
On the Chucho thing, I definitely think you rely on him. Not just to score goals but to create space and chances, his speed alone causes forced errors.
I know Jimenez scored today, but I'm starting to think the kid doesn't know how to finish. Not just by his displays in America but in his matches with the national team too. He has missed some shockers with Mexico.
He's fantastic as a poste though, and useful in dead ball situations.(like today)
There were a lot of good games today. Didn't watch a single game this week that I found boring.
Might just got lucky with my picks though.(can't watch every singe game like I used to. )

Re: Liga MX: Apertura 2012
Jimenez really needs to improve his finishing, but as you said he works well as a poste because of his size and skill. Also, the ball didn't completely cross the line in the penalty.
We better show an attitude improvement against Atlante. These last 6-7 games, I haven't liked the way we've played, or how the players seem complacent at times. Missing Gutty.

From that it looks like it is does not cross the line completely and Martinolli and his chivas bias was blatent there. I knew I was onto something

Re: Liga MX: Apertura 2012
Yeah I was thinking that too, but since it was TV azteca i thought he was being neutral.
With the Chucho thing, I know we rely on him. Yesterday we weren't going to score from open play or through a fast counter. Jiminez did well as a poste like you guys said.
As for Chivas I thought you guys would get a huge morale boost after beating Leon with that nice fk. The results just are going for you guys and now you don't have your top players. Next two games are against Tigres? and then us on Saturday.
