Well considering we already have a pretty good squad + Vertonghen (Hopefully) & Sigurdsson (Again Hopefully) - Modric. Plus the players AvB wants, I wouldn't say that we don't have to squad to compete with Arsenal, Chelsea, Newcastle etc.

Not necessarily, at Porto one of the three mids normally had the freedom to do what they wanted/be more attacking. Was normally Moutinho but it would occasionally rotate to someone else.
