Are Beats worth it?

Will be having a sum of money come in the next few weeks and considering buying a pair, along with some clothes ect..

I have a pair and they are really good, however I haven't tried the alternatives which people have said are just as good if not better for cheaper. It's up to you, if you wanna spend that kind of money on pair of headphones then do it.

I find that JVC's XX range are more than adequate. There are in-ear and over-ear variants, both of which I own, both of which are absolutely excellent. They have bright red wires so you'll look cool in front of the girls.

Over-ear headphones are much better for your ears than the ones that slot in them. When I studied sound engineering at college we used headphones everyday and the tutors would not let us use the in-ear ones because we would have smashed our ears by the end of the 2 year course.

Also the "Beats" ones look cool as fuck.

They sound great but look fucking horiffic

No, but if your going to get expensive headphones, I hear that 50 cents are much better.

I got my Solo HDs from Amazon for about £130 I think. They do like putting the price to £169 RRP so keep a look out. Make sure you have a look on the Beats website so you know who's an official seller too.

I always laugh at people with beats.

Overpriced and the only reason you would buy them is to cool.

Solo HDs are better- obviously.

My mate has the HDs and listened to some Sol Campbell Beats (normal Solos), said he could hear a difference in quality.

If you've got the extra however much it is between them, get the HDs.

EDIT: The black HDs are only £134 atm.

Also, in answer to the original question, no they fucking aren't, no headphones are worth that.

I personally don't get why people need their music to be that high quality. To be honest I've used my friend's beats and yeah they sound better than my $40 headphones, but not enough better to spend $125 more on it.

Beats aren't worth it, if you think they look cool, and have the money to get them, so be it. But when compared to similar over the ear headphones they are pretty poor.
