Witsel as well. Fuck, Belgium should be up there with the best teams in Europe in a few years.

Johnson - Terry - Cahill - Cole
Chambo' - Gerrard - Parker - Young
Rooney - Carroll

Still can't believe Downing got in over Sturridge.

Downing has been playing well for England recently(maybe not at the most recent game). He's also had the most assists in the past 4 games or something. I would of still chosen Sturridge though.luke. wrote:Still can't believe Downing got in over Sturridge.

Can someone explain to me why Belgium aren't in Euro 2012? Considering they're such a 'great' team as I've seen said.

Good individuals, bad team? Like England through the last few years.

I believe it's because of problems with the language that the national team speaks.

Because they finished behind Germamy and Turkey in qualifying.
It's not a 'great team'. Obviously when the team mentions the likes of Lukaku, it's one with potential.

The qualifiers started just under 2 years ago and they had Germany in their group, plus they only finished 2 points off 2nd.

Young and inexperienced team, have made a lot of mistakes in qualifying, which they'll learn from and just get even stronger. I think Hazard was pretty much expelled from the team by their old manager too.

Not really, we don't have that many good individuals, we're just not as good as the media try to make out of us.Hadouken! wrote:Dean wrote:Can someone explain to me why Belgium aren't in Euro 2012? Considering they're such a 'great' team as I've seen said.

If Hazard breaks his leg ( ) Does that mean his transfer to Chelsea is off?

Maybe not now, but a few years ago (2006 lets say), the entire defence was world class (probably not Neville at that point, still solid though), nothing wrong with midfield individuals (problem was Gerrard and Lampard couldn't play together effectively and Sven wouldn't drop one of them for a Carrick/Hargreaves), and Owen and Rooney up front.19Jones19v wrote:Not really, we don't have that many good individuals, we're just not as good as the media try to make out of us.Hadouken! wrote:

Oh yeah for sure, when players like Joe Cole, Lampard and Gerrard was at their peak. I should have made it more specific when I said that sorry.Danny wrote:Maybe not now, but a few years ago (2006 lets say), the entire defence was world class (probably not Neville at that point, still solid though), nothing wrong with midfield individuals (problem was Gerrard and Lampard couldn't play together effectively and Sven wouldn't drop one of them for a Carrick/Hargreaves), and Owen and Rooney up front.19Jones19v wrote:Not really, we don't have that many good individuals, we're just not as good as the media try to make out of us.
Right now we've got one of the best keepers in the world, 2 out of the 3 best right backs in the league (the other being Sagna of course), the best left back in the league and 1 of the top 3 strikers in the league. The other positions there are at least 2 players in each position in the PL that are better. I just feel that isn't enough to challenge for the Euros.

Teams out, Young, Chamberlain and Welbeck up front.
Hazard, Dembele and Mertens up top for Belgium.

What we have here is the Bronze Generation.

Is the black Cafu at RB for England?

I think Chamberlain, Cahill, Richards, Young, Welbeck, Walcott, Lescott, Hart, Wilshere and Sturridge would be up there for the golden generation in the future.

Yeah, I'd say it's not as strong now, and we won't challenge for this like we could and maye should have done in 2004 and 2006.19Jones19v wrote:Oh yeah for sure, when players like Joe Cole, Lampard and Gerrard was at their peak. I feel it's more of a unit now though, Sven was always scared of dropping big names, even if it would have been better for the team.

Yep, I agree with what you're saying, but with the list of players I stated in the post above show's that the future is a lot promising than it was back then.Danny wrote:Yeah, I'd say it's not as strong now, and we won't challenge for this like we could and maye should have done in 2004 and 2006.19Jones19v wrote:Oh yeah for sure, when players like Joe Cole, Lampard and Gerrard was at their peak.
