Euro 2012 Squads - Page 34 Empty Re: Euro 2012 Squads

Post by Guest Wed Jun 06, 2012 9:19 am

Former Ahli coach Manuel Jose launched a scathing attack on the Portugal squad as he seems far from optimistic about his country’s chances at Euro 2012.

He veteran coach - currently unemployed after leaving Ahli last month - criticized the attitude of Portugal players following a friendly defeat to Turkey ahead of the Poland/Ukraine finals.

Jose, who once revealed that he wishes to manage his country, also aimed a swipe at coach Paulo Bento.

“It looks like a circus around the Selecao,” the 66-year-old coach told TSF.

“I got the feeling in the game with Turkey when pictures of players were published while they were having a massage. This cannot happen at all. Sounds like Big Brother!

“I do not think they are creating the conditions for success.

“Players in the Portugal team drive cars worth €400,000 in a country that is in crisis. This only adds to their responsibility. They should repay fans.

“I have the greatest respect and sympathy for Paulo Bento, but he is too young.

“I am telling him you are carried away. Players must be aware and focus on their duty, which is playing football.

“With this circus, it is clear they are not focused. Portugal are no more favorites like before.”

Portugal are braced for a tough Euro campaign after they were draw in the Group of Death, alongside former champions Germany, Holland and Denmark.

I have a question that you may be able to assist me with.

Is her name pronounced how it's written - "Kanepi"? Because for some reason this fortnight, a couple of commentators on Eurosport have started calling her "Canopy" or "Canopay".

Not 100% sure, but know the main attackers who start are Kerzakhov, Arshavin and Dzagoev with Semshov and Zyrianov breaking from midfield into the box.

Yeah their midfield and attack's solid and their only weak points come from their centre halfs, whilst Anyukov and Zhirkov are actually good defensively and Zhirkov's attacking is great.

Yeah it certainly will be a very good game, Poland have some quality players although I only know the main ones in Chesney, Lewandowski, Piszeck, Kuba and Obraniak.
