Agbonlahor only scored one more goal than Carroll this season. Hasn't scored a league goal since November.

If you apply some logic to it, it's quite simple...

Man City - Hart, Lescott, Milner in squad. Barry injured. Richards refused to be on standby, Johnson left out.
Man Utd - Jones, Rooney, Young, Welbeck in squad. Ferdinand left out because Terry is an apparent racist, Carrick refused to be on standby, Scholes retired.
Arsenal - Walcott, Chamberlain in squad. Lack of English talent.
Chelsea - Terry, Cole in squad. Cahill, Lampard injured.
Tottenham - Parker, Defoe in squad. Walker injured. Huddlestone, Lennon no better than players already picked.
Newcastle - Danny Guthrie and James Perch? LOL
Everton - LOL
Liverpool - Gerrard, Carroll, Downing, Johnson in original squad. Henderson and Kelly called up because they are fit and didn't refuse to be on standby.

You say Micah Richards refusing to be on the standby list is why he's not there, but I'm pretty sure Martin Kelly wasn't on the list either.

Yes he was.

But Kelly didn't refuse to be on it, so he will always get called up before Richards.
