    a monkey?

I'm not trying to insult Pep or Barca, my point is that while Pep may have been initially responsible for Barcelona's recent success since he has pretty much set up the system Barcelona play, he is not needed anymore. If you were to put a monkey in his place, Barcelona would still play the same way Pep taught them, provided the players don't take any directions from the monkey.
At this point I think Pep is just riding his own success, he is not reinventing the wheel so to speak, he is not introducing any new ideas, and he doesn't adapt to his opponents, he plays the same way no matter what. For example when Barca encounters a highly defensive team, Pep doesn't change things around to try and break the defense down, he keeps sticking to his tactics and formation even though it is not working, and when he loses or draws he complains about the other team playing anti-football.
The greatest managers keep reinventing themselves, they keep trying new ideas and new tactics, they adapt to their opponents and counter them. I just haven't seen that from Guardiola yet.

WHO would you replace him with?

    Replacement.. replacement..

Hmmm.. I really have no idea of who would be able to take over the responsibilities.

I'm sure they will get some under-the-radar manager that hardly anyone has ever heard of.

They should get Arsene Wenger though.

No, there are no living monkeys that have coaching licenses, hence Barcelona would get repeatedly disqualified from all competitions if they were to employ a monkey as their manager and would not be as successful as they have been in the past couple of years.

I'm terribly sorry, but you happen to be mistaken. UEFA, or "UEFAlona" as it is affectionately called, is currently involved in a conspiracy to ensure that Barcelona Football Club wins every available competition. As such, your claims are ridiculous.

No, he's the manager of Roma. He was Barca B manager last season.

    facepalm

If anything, this season's failure can be somewhat tied to the fact that Guardiola did change his tactics/formation/playing style from last season. This new Barca style was brought in this season to counter teams who played defensively (like Chelsea). It made them more vulnerable on the counter attack and it cost them points in the league and CL.

Pep didn't introduce new ideas? I've never seen any team in the world now or in the past ever play with the reverse pyramid formation (and be somewhat successful with it).

People don't give Pep enough credit for his achievements. He has been at the club for several years and is responsible for the development of the greats like Messi at Barca. Not only that, but once he took over the first team, he took them from one of the best teams in Europe to a dominating team and one of the best, if not the best, teams in the history of the sport. He might not come close to that success at another club, but that's not because he is necessarily riding Barca's success. But because he made the success and is a great fit for Barca.

Whoever comes next will not be as successful in my opinion. Winning as many titles as Pep in a few years is very difficult to replicate.
